Rumba: Basic Sequence 7 (For Cha Cha Cha)

The first basic sequence.
Basic Sequence:
1. Basic
2. Fan
3. Walk
4. Alemana
5. Basic
6. Fan
7. Walk
8. Hockey Stick
9. Curl
10. Spiral

One of the basic differences between the Cha Cha Cha and the Rumba, is the set of three steps to the side done over two beats, also called the chasse; the counts for which is cha, Cha, 1 (recommended), which is done for the slow step (4,1) of Rumba Basic. Thus substituting the chasse for every count of 4,1, in Rumba transforms the dance to Cha Cha Cha.

Thus the sequence given is common to both the  Rumba and the Cha Cha Cha.

All dances are related. However Rumba and Cha Cha Cha are closer cousins.
