the ray russell cc invite is named after the current assistant and former head coach.  he has coached the jonathan alder running programs for over 40 years.

coach russell started this meet as a place for smaller teams to come and compete against their own level of competition.  however it has grown over the years to include large schools as well as small and the teams are divided according to competitiveness.

the course is relatively flat with 2/3 a 10 - 15 foot winding wooded path.  even being so, it is a very good spectator course as the viewer never has to move more than 50 feet to watch runners pass 6 different times.  it is not a looping course either.

all high school and junior high teams are welcome to compete.
