Tough and Functional

Materials and Methods

I do stock removal, and I only make fixed blades at the present. I am currently learning how to make folding linerlocks, and these will soon be added to my availible knives.

My favorite steels are D2 and ATS 34. If you need something made in another metal I will be glad to do it, as long as the steel is reasonably availible.

For handles I use G10 and different types of wood. I plan to begin making with micarta soon.

Sheaths are done in leather or kydex, your choice. I began leatherwork several years before knifemaking, so I have some experience in tooling.

I do a flat grind on all my blades, due to the setup of my shop. I also believe that the flat grind is one of the best, providing a good compromise between a strong edge and edge retention.
