This version of Severed Realities is a remake of the original, started in early 2008 by Shirohama Keitaro on forum. The game premise began just at the conclusion of the Soul Society arc, allowing the players the take the game in any direction they chose after that point.
This version of the game, however, will not take place on a forum. Instead, we've chosen to set our medium of roleplay on telnet. There is much that one should be familiar with in order to be an effective roleplayer on a telnet server as opposed to a forum-based game. For example, most telnet servers use coded systems (i.e. commands input by the player to interact with objects, move locations, etc.) To your left, you will find a section of tutorials for all the basics of telnet roleplay.
Connecting to the game is simple. However, it should be noted that use of additional software may be required, such as MUSHclient. This is a small program which downloads and installs in no time with an easy-to-understand interface.
The next step is to setup the world (i.e. server) connection details. You can do this one of two ways: CTRL+N as a shortcut, or File -> New World. At this point, you'll receive a dialogue popup asking if you'd like to preload world details from an existing world. This means "Would you like to load information from a world you've previously saved to hard disk?" You should click no.
