Well, it's not really about me, it's more about my reasons for doing things...

If you want to have faith in my translations then DON'T read on. If not then go ahead but you might regret it and I have warned you.

Why I decided to do some translations.

I decided to translate some Devilman stuff when I got my hands on Amon - The Darkside of the Devilman (Volume 1) and was intrigued as to what was happening.  I'd seen the third OAV at this stage (very badly subtitled but I'm of the opinion that some subtitling is better than none. None being the fact that you can't get it, even in raw Japanese.) Anyway, I'd seen the third OAV and could see that the manga was sort of an adaption, or the OAV was the adaption. I don't really care.

Knowing kind of what was going on from the anime, I really wanted to know what was going on in the manga! Especially at the end with Amon and Satan. (Note which goes nowhere, I actually prefer the furred Devilman to the one with the exoskeleton but that's okay, I can adapt. ^_^ And the red Amon from the anime was just cool!) Back to the point again... Wanting to know what was going on I ventured forth on to the Internet and was very disappointed at how little I could find. I found some things in Japanese but not much in english except a few things to say that yes the manga existed. (Well I knew that, I was looking at it trying to find out what it said)

(This is the bit you shouldn't read, if you think my Japanese is okay.)  This was in the time when I had just finished 1 semester of university Japanese. I did it merely as an extra when I was finishing off my Engineering and Science Bachelors. (Yeap, I'm fully graduated now with two Bachelors and am working. It sucks except for the money.) As such, it was the class which was the least important to me and was done simply to ensure that I had the points to be a full time student. I went to class and occasionally I even paid attention, that's when I wasn't trying to finish several engineering projects! I came away with a little knowledge of Japanese.

The last paragraph being said, I quickly realised that if I wanted to know what was happening, and what was being said in the manga then I was going to have to translate it myself because while there are fans of Devilman on the net, there didn't appear to be anyone who was translating or doing in depth summaries of what was happening. In truth, if I could have found a decent summary I probably would only have translated sections and the 'net would certainly have never have seen them. I am quite happy with my paper translations, typing them up is actually very time consuming and boring. I did find some translations but I am impatient and at the time they weren't any of Amon.

As a result, because my Japanese is very very bad and because it is so time consuming, I am only translating what takes my interest. And I'm doing that very slowly.  I am trying to work full time and then some and write several very neglected fics, which if I ever finish one day I might get around to the idea for a Devilman fic I have. I doubt it though.... ^_^ But years later, who knows....

If you got down here, then I guess you deserve to know a little about me... Here goes on the info I am happy enough to spread.... You have to personally know me to get the real secrets. ^_^

Net Name: Miki (for Devilman related things.) Jade Tatsu (for fanfiction, DragonBall Z, Rurouni Kenshin, and Final Fantasy VII) Nope, I'm not spilling the beans on the real name.

Why Miki?: I'm a girl.  (Now for all you guy devilman fans who just collapsed, females are allowed to like Devilman too you know. It's not completely unheard of. I know plenty of guys who like it but equally, I know several girls who will when pushed admit that they quite like it.) Also, why Miki... Well for a human girl, she did have quite a rival for the affections of her lover. Going up against Satan, even unwittingly is something afterall. So she ended up dead, big deal. She may have gone up against Satan but no one ever said she had a chance and it's not like Satan did much better in that department. Miki at least did get laid. ^_^ Enough of that. She was also very strong in the manga. The anime's don't really do her  justice because she actually fought off her attackers for quite a while before ending up dead. Sniffle...

What I do when I'm not trying to translate stuff?: I work. I finished my schooling (Bachelor of Engineering (with honours) and Bachelor of Science) so now I have entered the real world. I write fanfiction, very slowly. I occasionally do some house work, but I try to avoid that.  I watch lots of anime! I lament the fact that I don't have a decent computer (My current computer doesn't have a cd drive, is a 486 and so can't even play FFVII, also it's got less that 20 MB of space left... Sigh...) and only get on the net when I visit internet cafes or go home. Enough complaining.

Where do I live: Australia. (For all you Americans who are wondering where that is, it's that large land mass that is in the southern hemisphere. We held the Olympics a little while ago, although God only knows why. It's going to take forever to pay them off. Yeap, the American centric mind set of most US people I have met over the internet really pisses me off. But thankfully I have met a couple who aren't like that. It really surprised me!)

Just don't ask me how to get your hands on Devilman manga because so far I haven't even been in the same country as anyone who has. All I can suggest is taking the ISBN numbers to a Japanese book store and getting them to order them for you. It might take a while, it took 6 months plus for my things to come in but they did eventually. That is really the only way I can suggest which might be reliable. Ebay or somewhere else would be okay too, if they are on offer but I don't know how often Devilman stuff comes up. Gambatte in getting stuff though.
