The very first leaflet we distributed to communicate with the people. We soon ran out of copies. This is a printable gif image with transparent areas between black text. The background white of the webpage is showing through. English Translation (well, more or less...) PEACE and HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT in the neighbourhood is our RIGHT! Ladies and Gentlemen, Jadavpur Central Road has witnessed the advent of some ruffians who are exploiting our peace-loving nature. Their present intention is to encroach the area with illegal stalls and turn it into another marketplace. They have even threatened local residents. This group had been active in the past. But that maladventure was foiled by united resistance from the residents. Apart from this - severe noise and air pollution by illegally parked trucks have made the region inhabitable. As citizens, it is our right to live in peace and in a healthy environment. We need to reunite to reestablish that right. For this, a residents' meet will be arranged soon (we still had no idea when this could be done). Please attend the meeting to express your valuable opinion and to strengthen the Citizens' Protest against antisocial activies. Residents of Central Road Read on > Leaflet No. 2
