Objective: Students to recognize sequences and patterns
Materials: Elmo, projector, paper, writing utensil
Lesson adjustments if needed for some students:� Provide visuals
Focus:
Put sequences on projector/Elmo to see if students can   determine the pattern.� The purpose is   to understand the relationship between numbers.
Concept Discovery:
Discuss the patterns found in the sequences given.� Introduce specific types of sequences and   the relationships they have on one another.

���� - rectangular   numbers���������������� - Fibonacci   numbers
Inform students about Fibonacci numbers in nature
Done in conjunction with concept discovery.� Present one type of sequence. Have students   try to solve it and then do dot array.�   Have students then determine how to use sequences to determine the   others.

Have students come up with two of their own sequences   different from the ones discussed in class

Collect students? sequences.� Split class into two teams and have class them work eachothers' problems

Extension: Have students go home and find things that have Fibonacci   numbers
