Here are some pictures from my visit to The Philippines during Spring of 2005. The fuzzy pictures were taken by cellphone cameras, and the rest were taken using my Sanyo camera that I bought in Japan.

I got to go around a little bit and do some tourist stuff.
Okay, in a moment of romanticism I sent flowers to this mystery woman...ooohhh....it was Valentine's Day. Notice she is wearing a uniform, has a gun, probably a badge, and a pair of handcuffs. I'll have to watch myself.
A Mystery Woman (Code named "J")
It's the mystery woman's Birthday when I was visiting. That's her sister's kid. But who knows, maybe it's a premonition picture....oooohhh....
The mystery woman and I were on a lunch date. Beauty and me, the beast. I heard her feet hurt since I decided to walk all over the mall after lunch. But we did stop for coffee. I really enjoyed that day. Unfortunately, true to my beastly ways, I forgot to get her something. Now I really have to make it up to her.
Caleruega Church (Nasugbu, Batangas)
I got to visit a church called Caleruega, at a place called Nasugbu, Batangas. It's situated on a hill surrounded by Pineapple fields. A really nice place and it seems like a popular place to get married. It is a Seminary but you can book some of their room for religious retreats. It was busy day when I was there since the Pope had just passed away.
Taal Volcano (Tagaytay)
Since we were in the general vicinity, after visiting the church we decided to have lunch at one of the numerous restaurant in the area with a view to Taal Lake and the volcano. Yes, that's a live volcano. Really good food. The area specialty is a soup called "bulalo." It's really yummy with vegetables and big pieces of beef with bones and marrow. Yes...mad cows...

The woman in the picture is a friend code named "G," no not the mystery woman.
Ft. Santiago, Intramuoros Manila
I also took a quick afternoon trip to the old capitol area of the Philippines, the Intramuoros & Ft. Santiago. This was the seat of the Spanish government in the Philippines. This is also was where Jose Rizal, the Philippines' national hero, spent his last days before being shot in a firing squad.
Dinner at Libis with Friends
The usual thing to do in the Philiipines is to go out to dinner with friends. They took me to one of the local places called "Libis." It's kind of a trend now with these kinds of places opening up next to the so-called "wet market." It's a market where you can get fresh fish, vegetables, and meats. Really good food.....I have gotten fat in my old age plus all the eating. By the way, that's my friends "G" and "R" (not Gun & Roses).
