My 1998 SVT Cobra
This is my 1998 SVT Cobra. I purchased this car on July 16, 2001. I've wanted a 4 valve Cobra since I bought my Thunderbird back in December of 1996. The insurance for me at that time was out of sight though and the Thunderbird was a much more practical choice for a college car.

I had been looking for a white '96-'98 Cobra for a few weeks and there weren't very many around. I finally found my car in Kansas City, MO. I drove all the way there to test drive it and then decided it was the car for me. I went back 4 days later and bought it.

When I bought it, the car already had a Bassani X-Pipe w/ cats, a Mac cat-back, and a K&N filter. The previous owner had also purchased a Steeda shift knob which I got with the car.
Before and after the Billet Grille was installed...
Here are some updated pics of the Cobra. I will be adding more soon, so check back often. Click on any of them for the larger version.
Here are some pics of my Cobra on the dyno on July 28, 2001. My only mods when it was dynoed were a Bassani X w/ cats, a K&N, and a Mac-Catback. The car made 250 RWHP and 261 RWTQ on the first pull. I was somewhat disappointed but at least it was an explanation for my poor ET's the night before. After some tuning by Jerry (Inject-Tech), the car laid down 265 RWHP and 265 RWTQ. Now that's better...My goal is to get the car in the 11's N/A without touching the shortblock. See my Mods page for more info...

Update (2-9-02):
Replaced the rear Nitto 255/45/17 ZR's with Nitto 275/40/17 Drag Radials. The car gets TONS more traction than I could've imagined. I can actually use first gear and taking off from a dead stop I can launch about 3,000 RPM's or so.

I cut a hole behind the passenger side corner lamp so that I can pull the lamp at the track and the filter will be directly exposed to the incoming air. At the top end of the track, that air should be coming in at 90+ MPH...hey's it was free so why not try it? Here's a couple pics...
1 and 2

I dropped the S-281 wing off to be painted this weekend. It'll be on by next Saturday or so. I'll post pics when I install it.

If the weather is nice I'll be taking the car to the track on February 17th for Sunday's Test and Tune at Thunder Valley. Hopefully I'll see a 12 second slip.
