THE UNION
It becomes reality in 1945. Both "Ticha" and "Vladislav" sport clubs decide to combine forces in order to bring back the glory of Varna football. The new association is called "Ticha-Vladislav-45".
In 1947, a new union with "Primorets" leads to the new name of "TVP". During the next year, "TVP" goes over to the military, and once again
changes its name to "Botev", and in the 1948/1949 season it finishes 6th, while the forward N. Nedev is goal scorer of the country. Then follows a period of crisis because CDNV Sofia is relegated from the "A" group and all the military organisations are closed. "Botev" from Varna goes to regional groups. The possibility of breaking up the team is quite serious. Tempting offers were made to the best of players from Varna by the capital teams and the ones from the province. But they remain loyal to their association and city and restore their previous participation in the premier league.
It doesn't take much time before the "Botev" players adjust to the group as they show attractive football and neutralize the capital teams.
The third place in 1953 is the reward of that.
During these years of recuperation of Varna football, the most noticable players are: Dimitar Stefanov, Mladen Djurov, Ivan Derventski, Todor Nikolov, Stoil Lilov, Georgi Radev, Georgi Dimitrov, Hristo Konakov, Iliya Apostolov, Panayot Jelyazov, Todor Terzistoev, Anastas Konakov, Milio, Borov, Mihail Rachev.
The next few years are ones of rebuilding a stronger "Botev", but seasons of hesitation as well, when finally the period after 1962/1963 would come...
