I Want A Famous Face: Yahoo Fan Group
Fans of the show can join an email group provided by yahoo groups called "I Want A Famous Face". The group was created by me (Glenn) which means I am the group's owner and moderator. If you do not have a yahoo account, you will need to create one. The account is free and will allow you access to dozens of services provided by yahoo besides membership in the "I Want a Famous Face" group. Two of the most widely used services are yahoo email and messenger. But if you already have an email account and messenger from another service, you don't have to use yahoo's.
Once an acount is created you can then join the "I Want a Famous Face" group where you can post messages about the show, the patients, celebrities featured on the show, MTV, the entertainmnet world, and other reality shows. If you want to discuss something in your email that is not directly related to the show, this is ok too. The purpose of the group is to have fun and exchange ideas and information. Online friendships often develope in groups like this so it is likely that you will see emails where people discuss their personal lives. This is ok and encouraged but it is best to contact people outside the group through personal email addresses in order to ensure privacy as the messages are kept in an archive for all members to see. The only posts that are not allowed are ones that attack the patients or MTV. Members are encouraged to post as much and as often as they want.
The group also has sections for messages, photos, files, links, chat, polls, and a calender. As I mentioned above, once a message is posted it is kept in an archive which all members have acccess to. Pictures of the patients and celebrities as well as other subjects related to the show can be found in the photos section. The files section is intended for things like group rules and music downloads. Members can create links to celebrity, fan, and other yahoo groups. If and when members feel like they want to get together and talk, they can do that in our chat room. All members are allowed to vote in group polls when they take place. And anybody is allowed to create a poll. The calender can be used to list important dates like the show's airtimes and interviews on TV with people who have been on the show.
