| Ragnarok- Also called the Twilight of the gods. The final battle between the gods and the giants. The whole worlds end where all living except one humans will die. One legend states there will be a man to hide in the tree of life and from there another human will produce and this will spawn the new race. According to myth, Ragnarok will be the day Loki and his followers will break their bonds and take on the final battle with all the gods. All wise end up followed by regeneration. The new world will be populated by sons of Odin, Thor and Blader and Hodor. They will live in harmony with mortals. This new world will be created by the all father also known by Alfadur. Ratatosk- Rabbit or Squirrel who runs up and down the tree of life promoting strife between the eagle at the top and the serpent Nidhogg at the roots. Runes- The system of writing created by Odin. Today, runes are used to fortell the future. Sessrumnir- Hall of the goddess Freyja. Sessrumnir is located in Asgard. Skidbladnir- Freyr's ship crafted by the dwarf smiths. Skin-Faxi- The steed who draws the chariot of Dag thru the heavens. The name means shining mane. Sleipnir- Odin's 8 legged horse. he had supernatural strength. he was rode by Hermod into Hel to attempt to save Balder Slid- River. Once coming from hel, it flows of water, Swords, spears, and armor. Sol- Children of Mundilfari. Sol for the sun and his brother Mon for the moon. Son- One of the jars to hold the mead of poetry brewed from Kvasir's blood. Svadilfare- An animal whom belongs to the giant whom offered to build the wall around Asgard if given the goddess Freyja. Svart-alfa-heim- Home of the Evil. When Ymir was killed maggots produced in his rotting body, these maggots created the evil dwarfs whom manage this domain. Svart-alfar- The maggot like creatures whom filled Ymir's rotting corpse. |
