| Thialfi- Lightening deity. Brother of Roskua, and servant of Thor. Encouraged by Thor, he broke one of the magical bones on Thor's goat and because of this, they gave their son and daughter to Thor to make up for their wrong. Thiassi- Storm giant and son of Ivalde and Greip, brother of Egil and Idun. Idun is guardian of the magical apples, which Thiassi coveted to give him back his youth.. Idun was restored to Valhalla by Loki. Thiassi was burned and killed by the Aesir. Thok- Female giant. She represented darkness likely an aspect of Loki. She was the one whom refused to weep for Balder when he died. Thor- God of thunder, lightening. Protector god, god of the sky, household and fertility. Thor follows Odin as a principle deity in the Norse pantheon. As a protector who watches over mortals, he is always in battle with the wild forces of nature. Thunder and lightening are his primary ways of gaining attention. Even his chariot that was drawn by 2 magical goats produces thunder as it rips thru the sky. These amazing goats are very magical. Thor could kill and eat these goats, and they would regenerate to full health. He is husband to the beautiful goddess Sif. Their children were Modi and Thrud, Mangi and Balder. Thor resides in Bilskirnir. A 540 room palace located in Thrudheim. His magical tools are his hammer Mjollnir, a pair of Iron Gauntlets called Iarngreiper used to grasp the hammer due to its great heat. And a belt of strength called Megin-Giord. Thor is the only god whom can not use the bridge Bifrost because of his size and heat he generates. Thor is always more interested in deeds of strength and craftsmanship He is described as very big, burly immensely strong with blazing eyes and a beard. Thursday is named for Thor, "thurns day". Thora- Daughter of Hakon and wife to Ragnarlodburg. Thrall- Founder of the race of Serfs. Son of Heimdall and Edda. His wife is Thyr the drudge. They had 10 sons and 10 daughters. Thrud- Some say Thor or Giant daughter of Thor and Sif. Her husband was the dwarf Alvin. He was petrified when he couldn't prove his mental powers to Thor. Thrudgelmir- 6 headed frost Giant. He was born at the feet of Ymir. He bore the children father of all. He was leader of all. Thrym- Frost giant whom store Thor's hammer Mjollnier. He was killed by Thor when Thor reclaimed his hammer. Thunor- Germanic sky god. His symbol are of the great oaks of Europe. Some say he is Thor. Tyr- Sky god whom is associated with battle, mars and Romans. God of law and order, and one of whom holds up the universe. He is either the son of Odin, or Hymir. He was the only one brave enough to fasten the fetter around the neck of Fenrir the wolf. In doing so, he lost his hand. He is also associated with the Valkyries. |
| Ull- God of winter, skiing, archery. In the Edda's Ull was one of the major gods. The others being: Odin, Thor, Njord, Freyr, Balder, Tyr, Heinda, Bragi, Forseti, Hod, Vidar, Val. His mother is Sif and his is known for his archery skills. Ull resides in Ydalir, or Valley of the rain. Urd- Goddess of destiny, one of the Norns. They oversee the destiny of all mortals and gods at birth and death. At birth one of the Norns is present. They reside beneath the tree of life (yggdrasil) and take care of it. Next to Urd's well. The gods assemble at this location. Some say she is cheif of the Norns. Urth- Another name for Hel, goddess of the underworld. |
