Chewie[NOMS-NM]

By far the most fun that I ever had with a variant!!! Chewie[NOMS-NM] as you can tell by his name, is a No-Mana-Shield-Nakd-Mage. He uses no items, AND doesn't use the Mana-Shield spell. For anyone who has ever played a sorcerer, you know that MS makes the game MUCH easier. Chewie[NOMS-NM] is now pretty much retired having done a successful 3@30. You can view the report below. He could barely manage to take ONE fireball in Hell/Hell

Well, I wrote a thread the other day about how much I loved this
variant. I thought it only fitting to bring you up to speed on
Chewie's 3@30. It was long, slow, and a pain in the ass, but at the
end of the day Chewie stood victorious.

Level 13:
Nice little mix of Counselors and Fire Drakes. Luckily I only had to
clear about half of the level before I managed to find the stairs
down.
Deaths: 3

Level 14:
Fire Drakes again plus Doom Guards
A blind teleport over a wall set me up right next to the stairs down.
Deaths: 0

Level 15: [praying for no Soulies]
Ballrogs and Snow Witches. Not too bad. Stone and a couple
Fireballs for the witches, Stone and Chain for the Ballrogs.
Unfortunately, my level 3 Chain wasn't doing a whole lot.

I started out in the upper left corner, so I only had to clear one
quad to get to Laz and Co. Drawing out the witches was no problem,
but I made a mistake and got hit with one Bloodstar and I was toast.
Carefully this time, I managed to Stone them both and take them out.
Chain into the box brought out the two Hellspawn and a few Stones and
plenty more Chain took care of them.

Now my problem. I couldn't withstand even on fireball, so I had to
resort to Firewall. I managed to finally, get to a spot where I
could see Laz, but he couldn't hit me. A few Stones and a ton of
Firewalls and he was gone.

Luckily the portal to 16 was close.... it's go time.
Deaths: 9

Level 16:
Same old stuff. Blook Knights and this Fireballing bastards. Turns
out I was in between D and the two switches. Went up, TKd the
switches and set up for the final battle. I set a couple of
Firewalls, and Chained into the box expecting to get both D and the
Black Knight. NO KNIGHT!!! Guess I just must have missed him. Well
I could barely withstand one Apoc, so I managed to set three
firewalls right at my feet. D killed me, but it wasn't long before I
had the last laugh.

I feel kinda bad that I couldn't take him out without dying, but hey,
I've got my dots.

WOO HOO! Still probably my favorite variant to date.
