These are the playlists for the shows that I've done on CKCU. I try and update this page as the show airs, letting you know what's currently playing, but it's probably best to give me a day to get it up here with artist links and everything. If you'd like to listen to me, my show broadcasts Monday mornings, 10:00 'til 11:30 AM Eastern, and can be heard in Ottawa, Canada, western Quebec and northern New York state by tuning into 93.1 FM, and it is also available worldwide via the Internet and streaming Real Audio by going to CKCU's audio page.

For more recent playlists, go here.

If you'd like to purchase anything you've heard on the show, I've created a page with links to stores, both local and online, that may be able to help you out.

One measly hit to the website. After all the feedback I got from last week's show, I thought I'd made an audience. Someone did call during Breeding Ground to express his amazement at hearing the song for the first time in 20 years.

Episode 49: "I'll warn you, if cornered, I'll scratch my way out of the pen / Wired, an animal / The claustrophobia begins / You think I'm scared of girls / Well maybe / But I'm not afraid of you / You want to scare me then you'll cling to me no matter what I do / Tell you a secret / They shared a needle once or twice / I loved her, she loved me / We slept together a couple of times/ You think I'm proud of this / Well maybe / But the shame you never lose / Infatuated with a lunatic and cornered by the muse / And it goes down every night / This must be what jail is really like / And I will scratch my way out of this pen, again / Lonely? / Maybe / Or maybe not / It all depends / Your ideal, your image / Your definition of a friend / If what you're shoveling is company / Then I'd rather be alone / Resentment always goes much further than it was supposed to go"

Two people (strangers!) e-mailed me to say they enjoyed music played on the show. It was nice (hint hint).

*January 19: I recieved an e-mail from one of the members of Beautifuzz telling me what they've been up to since the release of that album; A couple of members went on the form Daydream S2uare (also: their myspace) which released an album a few years back, and are working on something now. The Unireverse is another band from their ashes, and I played their cover of Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" some time last year.

Handsome Boy Modelling School feat. Cat Power "I've Been Thinking" White People

No hits to the web site. So much for the hope that Fateema Sayani big upping CKCU (well, campus radio) in the Citizen today would spike the listenership for me and Christian. I thought it was a pretty good show today, a mix of the unlistenable and pop. No "Best of 2004" show here, as I made a list of the most played 2004 albums on my show in 2004; Also in progress, "Stuff I Liked in 2004".

Charles Wright & The Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band "Express Yourself (Mocean Worker Remix)" What is Hip? WB Remix Project Vol 1 comp

*The station went off the air for transmitter repairs, but still broadcast over the Internet. Note to listeners: Rambling five minute stories of your lives where your sole purpose is to talk down to the DJ and belittle his choice of music isn't an ideal way to get your request on air. Although considering really nice things to say still involved a two week delay between request and play of Babe Ruth, maybe there's no apeasing me.

The December 20, 2004 10:00 - 11:30 time was done by Derek, who donated money during the funding drive to come in and host a show. He chose all of the music and I just handled the technical stuff, so it wasn't an official ItBS! episode, so no playlist will be posted here. If you need a new weekly list of artists/song titles, here's the tracklisting for a 90 minute tape I made last week for Chris, who hosts Turn Off Your Radio (Mondays, 4-5 PM):

Fugazi

New York Dolls "Seven Day Weekend" Endless Party
Yardbirds "Stroll On" Blow Up sndtrk
Rocket From the Tombs "Sonic Reducer" The Day the Earth Met the...

The tape was originally supposed to be a Pere Ubu tape, that's why there's so much of them on there. I'm pretty sure I mis-timed the starts of everything from the Harlem Underground Band through the Yardbirds. They all start on drum beats, and I think I missed the first beat in every case.

Episode 46: I like foot-stomping music, too, but not in a canoe!

Talib Kweli feat. Mary J. Blige "I Try" The Beautiful Struggle

A show so good it should've been broadcast! Talib Kweli was a non-specific song request by my number one fan, Rupi. You will, however, notice her complete lack of appearence on the list of names of people who donated to my show during funding drive. What's with that?

If you'd like to purchase anything you've heard on the show, I've created a page with links to stores that may be able to help you out.
