| Life like thoughts in a bind A mind like sadness On, and on, and on, and on I know nothing has changed Silence, silence On, and on, and on, and on (chorus) Surprise, surprise At times I find everything falls apart Love my thoughts in a bind Silence, soundness All I am is here Time is not enough for me Only lonely All I am is here (chorus) Surprise, surprise At times I find everything falls apart |

| Notes: This is the first song Merey and I ever played together. Since, it's been played with just guitar and vocals. In late December, the two of us recorded it and "The Demise" with Brian St. Clair (and added some lead guitar to the choruses and bridge), but they were both disappointing tracks, so it's not something to bring up at the dinner table. I brought the chords and vocal melody with me - disguised as a bottle of malt liquor in a brown paper sack - and the lyrics were total collaboration. -Martin I hate to tell you guys, but this awesome song was totally written by martin. The lyrics were not the result of collaboration with me at all. He always makes me take credit for his songs, dammit. MARTIN IS A GOOD SONGWRITER, so there. -guess who. Sometimes I like to pretend that I can play this song, but Martin is kind enough to make sure that no one else witnesses that. -Reed Oh, right. We didn't collaborate. That was all those other songs we play. -Martin |
