Our Lady Of Guadalupe Parish is located in a quiet residential neighborhood in North Spokane. The building, which was constructed in 19, served as an Episcopal Church until 19. Today Our Lady Of Guadalupe Parish continues to fulfill its religious and spiritual mission as a Traditional Roman Catholic parish. Maintained by Fr. Kevin Vallencourt and Missionary Sisters of the Holy Ghost, it serves the spiritual needs of the faithful in and around the greater Spokane area. Catholics who value the traditional teachings and liturgy of the Roman Catholic faith are welcome to worship with us. A small beautifully-adorned parish welcomes the faithful who cherish the Latin Mass and the centuries old traditions of the Roman Catholic faith.

At Our Lady Of Guadalupe Parish, the liturgy is celebrated according to the traditional Latin Rite of the Catholic Church. We remain faithful not only to the traditional Mass but to all the teachings of the Church as it existed prior to 1962, not out of stubbornness or disobedience, but out of our deep heartfelt love for the Catholic Faith.

The traditional Latin Mass is the perfect expression of the unchanging and unchangeable Catholic teaching on the nature of the sacrifice of the Mass and the Holy Eucharist. In Catholic theology, the Mass is the renewal and application to our daily lives of the greatest act of worship, the Passion and Death of Jesus Christ. The Holy Mass reminds us of our duty to our Creator. In the Mass we join with the perfect Sacrifice Jesus offered to His Eternal Father on Calvary.

Our beautiful, intimate parish provides an inspired setting for the celebration of the sacred liturgy. Personal devotions and prayers are also offered in sacred silence by the faithful. Visitors will notice that a prayerful silence permeates the parish at all times. In many Catholic churches today, it is acceptable to chat before or after Mass, interruping or distracting the silent prayers of the faithful. Often one is distracted by comments to one's neighbor during the course of the service. Here at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Parish, we request that you follow the custom of maintaining silence in the church. The church is truly the House of God and His presence is noteable in the tabernacle. Silence is a sign of reverence for the presence of God and demonstrates your spirit of consideration for those who wish to pray in silence.

Our dress code includes modest appropriate dress for women, (no pants, shorts, sleeveless, tight, low-cut or see through blouses or dresses) and a headcovering is required. For the men of our parish, dress or casual dress clothing is appropriate attire, no shorts, jeans, or shirts with logos imprinted on them.

Visitors are welcome to attend Holy Mass and assist in offering worship to Almighty God. Holy Communion, the reception of the Holy Eucharist, is the culmination of every Mass. Catholics believe that the Holy Eucharist is the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, truly, actually and substantially present under the outward appearances of bread and wine. The Catholic Church teaches that in receiving Holy Communion we fulfill the command of Christ: "Unless a man eat My Flesh and drink My Blood, he shall not have life in him."

Receiving the Holy Eucharist signifies the profession of the Catholic Faith. For one who does not profess the traditional Catholic Faith, to receive the Holy Eucharist would symbolize a unity of faith that does not in fact exist. For this reason, non-Catholics are not permitted to receive the sacrament of communion here.

We welcome all who are seeking membership in the one true Church of Christ and all Catholics who wish to return home to the traditional Catholic faith.
