Recipes  of the Month~2002
BAKLAVA
With its flaky golden layers of phyllo and honey-nut filling, this is perhaps the best known Middle Eastern dessert.

SIX ONION SOUP WITH GORGONZOLA
Quite  different from French Onion Soup....it's made with a chicken broth base instead of beef broth.  And the gorgonzola cheese melts into the soup rather than on top.  I can't say that I like it better than French Onion, but I certainly like it as well!  Try it and let me know what you think!!

IRISH SODA BREAD
This is called "soda bread" because it is leavened with baking soda instead of yeast.  A traditional coarse-textured bread, it can be served as a coffee-cake or snack with tea or coffee.  It's great with jam or lemon curd, and is especially delicious toasted.

GRANDMA'S STUFFED CABBAGE
This is my mother's recipe for stuffed cabbage.  She cooked her stuffed cabbage on top of the stove rather than in the oven, so it had a more "saucy" consistency...real down home comfort food and great with a crusty loaf of bread and some salad.  Enjoy!

SEAFOOD CASSEROLE
For all you seafood lovers out there, this recipe gives you 3  favorites in one meal!  It has shrimp, scallops and lobster in a sherry cream sauce that will just tantalize your tastebuds!
MAY 2002
NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER
This recipe for Clam Chowder is, of course, in the traditional New England Style...is there any other?  Every state in New England has its own version of the best New England Clam Chowder ever!!  I hope you will like this one...basic and easy to make.
