              GRANDPA'S STEW

WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE! It's so good to see you again. Stay a while and let's have a cup of coffee!

The "Grandpa" of this Recipe of the Month is my father, Dean Elias. Before he died I remember asking him for his recipe for the wonderful stew he used to make. He laughed...."I don't have a recipe, I just put stuff into it"! I persisted, and finally got him to divulge the "stuff" he used, approximate amounts, and how he put it all together. No, it wasn't an "exact" recipe, but he gave me enough information to come up with a very good reproduction, and I knew that it I ever wrote a cookbook, GRANDPA'S STEW would be in it! This month's recipe has all those wonderful "down home" comfort food attributes and I hope you will enjoy it. It's a great meal as the days are getting colder and winter is setting in. Serve it with a salad and some nice crusty Italian bread.
I lost my faithful little dog Jazz on October 28. I'm thankful that I had her 14.5 years, but it wasn't long enough! Visit her memorial page on this website.

IN THE KITCHEN ~ WITH MOM is my first cookbook!! It was printed in December 1999. It is a collection of 173 recipes that I have developed and acquired over the years from family and friends. All the recipes featured in "Recipe of the Month" come from the book. The book has been reprinted, and is now available for $19.95, which includes shipping and handling.
