EDONIS 01.01.01 : THE FIRST CAR OF THE MILLENNIUM
EDONIS 01.01.01 : LA PRIMA AUTO DEL MILLENNIO
Has been presented at the midnight of the 1st of January 2001 (Greenwich time) in Modena, and with the ambition to represent a milestone among sport cars. The Edonis 01.01.01, (Edonis is the make, 01.01.01 is the name), has been designed from former Ferrari, Lancia, Lamborghini and Bugatti engineers. The chief-engineer is Nicola Materazzi, father of the Lancia Stratos and the Ferrari F-40, two cars able to change the sport car history and, even more important fact, to change the approach to the design of a Grand Touring car! Now with the Edonis, Materazzi has done something similar, and to read the technical data is like listening a sublime music: a V12 engine, with a 3.8 Liters displacement, supercharged with 2 variable-geometry turbochargers, all manufactured using light alloys. The chassis is obviously an all-carbon one, the alluminum bodywork is entirely hand-made and the Michelin tyres are equipped with the Pax-System to survive punctures. E' stata presentata a mezzanotte del 1 Gennaio 2001 (ora di Greenwich) a Modena, e con l'ambizione di rappresentare una pietra miliare tra le macchine sportive. La Edonis 01.01.01, (Edonis � la marca, 01.01.01 � il nome), � stata progettata da ingegneri provenienti da Ferrari, Lancia, Lamborghini e Bugatti. Li ha diretti Nicola Materazzi, padre della Lancia Stratos e della Ferrari F-40, due macchine capaci di cambiare la storia delle automobili sportive e, fatto persino pi� importante, di cambiare lo stesso modo di pensare la progettazione di una Granturismo! Adesso con la Edonis, Materazzi ha fatto qualcosa di simile, e leggere i dati tecnici � come ascoltare una musica sublime: un motore V12, con una cilindrata di 3800, sovralimentato con due turbocompressori a geometria variabile, tutto in lega leggera. Il telaio � ovviamente tutto in carbonio, la carrozzeria in alluminio � tutta lavorata a mano e le gomme Michelin sono equipaggiate con il Pax-System per sopravvivere a eventuali forature. The engine has a max power of 680 bhp @ 8000 rpm with a max torque of 75 Kgm @ 3200 rpm, and must move a weight of only 1300 kg. The max speed is 226 mph (365 Kph) and the 0-60 mph time is under the 4 seconds. The production will start at the end of the 2001 and will be limited to only 21 units (like the number of the century opened by the presentation of the Edonis 01.01.01).
