Picchio is a young but really dynamic italian sportscar constructor. As I have reported in the Racing News section (see here), is the only constructor in the world that offers a complete range of sports prototypes, all based on a single platform: the two FIA CN Versions (for track or road races); the two FIA SR Versions (under 3,0L V6 and over) and the two ACO-LE MANS Versions (under 3,4L V8/2,0L Turbo V6 and over). The other unique chance offered by Picchio is to drive on the everyday roads an adapted version of this beautiful barchetta. You can even reserve one of the chassis involved in a national or international championship and buy it at the end of the race season. Picchio will provide the road conversion to give you the unique privilege of driving everyday a car which has raced in legendary races like the Le Mans 24h.
La Picchio � un giovane ma molto dinamico costruttore italiano di macchine sport. Come ho riportato nella sezione Racing News (vedi qui), � l'unico costruttore nel mondo ad offrire una gamma completa di vetture sport prototipo, tutte basate su un'unica piattaforma: le due versioni FIA CN (per corse su pista e su strada); le due versioni FIA SR (fino a 3000 V6 e oltre 3000 V6) e le due versioni ACO-LE MANS (fino a 3400 V8/2000 Turbo V6 e oltre 3400/2000 Turbo). L'altra possibilit� unica al mondo offerta dalla Picchio � di guidare sulle strade di tutti i giorni una versione opportunamente adattata di questa bellissima barchetta. E' persino possibile prenotare uno dei telai impegnati in un campionato nazionale o internazionale e comprarlo alla fine della stagione di corse. La Picchio si occuper� della conversione stradale per dare al fortunato acquirente l'esclusivo privilegio di guidare tutti i giorni una macchina che ha corso in gare leggendarie come la 24 Ore di Le Mans.

The first step of the road conversion is a rise of the rake height. The car receives also the side doors (if the customers wants) and a road equipment for the cockpit. The gearbox is replaced by a road one. The customer may choose between a manual or a sequential gearbox. If chooses the sequential, may also have the gearbox-commands on the steering wheel. If the customer choose a new road car (instead of the conversion from a racing one), is free to choose the type and the make of the engine (cannot be less than a 350 bhp, six-cylinder unit). The lead time is six months from the definition of the order.

Il primo passo della conversione stradale consiste nell'aumento dell'altezza da terra. La vettura riceve inoltre le portiere (se il cliente le desidera) e l'arredamento dell'abitacolo. Il cambio � sostituito da un sincronizzato pi� adatto all'uso stradale. Il cliente pu� scegliere tra un manuale o un sequenziale. Se opta per il sequenziale, pu� avere i comandi al volante. Se il cliente sceglie una vettura nuova stradale (in luogo della conversione di una racing), pu� scegliere il tipo e la marca del motore (non pu� essere inferiore a V6 e con meno di 350 CV). Il tempo d'attesa � sei mesi dalla definizione del capitolato tecnico.
