TRANS-AM: LA MANGUSTA DI SIMO RIDUCE IL VANTAGGIO DI GENTILOZZI A SOLI 4 PUNTI A HOUSTON
Continues in Houston the Simo's Qvale Mangusta chase of the Gentilozzi Jaguar XKR. In this last race Paul Gentilozzi has passed first the victory line but has been penalized by 25 second for the intervention of five mechanics in his 20th lap pit stop, while only 4 pit men are allowed to work on the car. So Gentilozzi has dropped to the sixth place just ahead of Willes, dropped from the third to the seventh place for the same penalty. So the victory is gone to Chris Neville (Ford Mustang Cobra), ahead of Stu Hayner and GJ Mennen (both with a Camaro). Brian Simo has grabbed a fourth place after the second-in-a-row pole position and a race led for most of his laps. Splitting him and Gentilozzi, the Pontiac GP of Leighton Reese, fifth. In the Drivers Standing Simo is now only four points behind Gentilozzi (219 vs 215 points).

In questa gara Paul Gentilozzi ha tagliato per primo il traguardo ma � stato penalizzato di 25 secondi per l'intervento di cinque meccanici nella sua sosta al 20 giro, mentre � permesso che solo 4 uomini lavorino sulla macchina. Cos� Gentilozzi � stato retrocesso al sesto posto davanti a Willes, sceso dal terzo al settimo posto per lo stesso motivo. Cos� la vittoria � andata a Chris Neville (Ford Mustang Cobra), davanti a Stu Hayner e GJ Mennen (entrambi su Camaro). Brian Simo ha concluso al quarto posto dopo la seconda pole position consecutiva ed una gara condotta per la maggior parte dei giri. Tra lui e Gentilozzi si � classificato Leighton Reese con la Pontiac GP. Nella Classifica Piloti Simo � ora a soli 4 punti da Gentilozzi (219 contro 215).
