| Sono
passati dieci mesi durante i quali, scopriremo, molte cose sono
cambiate. Domenico ha deciso di lasciare Diana e di sposare Filumena,
la madre di suo figlio (anche se Filumena non gli ha mai rivelato
quale dei tre gli è figlio). Questo è il giorno
del matrimonio, quello vero, di Filumena e Domenico. Vediamo
che l'appartamento è ornato di fiori. Arrivano i figli
e Domenico cerca di indovinare quale figlio è suo; li
interroga sulle donne e sulla loro capacità di cantare.
«Quando ero giovane cantavo. Chi di voi canta?» chiede
Domenico, ma il suo sforzo è inutile poiché tutti
e tre i figli sono stonati. Entra Filumena con Teresina, la sarta,
che sta ritoccando il suo abito da sposa. Prima della ceremonia
Domenico chiede a Filumena di dirgli la verità sulla sua
paternità. Lei rifiuta ancora, spiegando che vuole che
i tre figli siano uguali. Sembra che per un attimo Domenico non
voglia più sposarsi, ma quando entrano i tre giovani e
all'unisono lo chiamano "Papà" ritorna sui suoi
passi e tutti si preparano per la cerimonia. |

Ten
months later we find that many things are changed. Domenico has
decided to marry the mother of his son (although Filumena has
not revealed yet which of the three is his son). We begin at
the wedding, a real one this time, of Filumena and Domenico.
The apartment is filled with flowers during this special celebration.
The three men arrive and Domenico tries to guess which one is
his son by questioning them. He explains that when he was little
he used to sing, and asks "which one of you sings?"
This line of inquiry is unsuccessful, as all three young men
are tone-deaf. Filumena interrupts with her seamstress Teresina
who is making last-minute adjustments to her dress. Before the
ceremony, Domenico asks for the truth about his parenthood. Filumena
explains to him that she wants all her children to be equal in
their parents' eyes. For a moment it seems that Domenico does
not want to marry Filumena anymore, but when the three men come
in and in unison call him "dad," he is moved. They
all prepare for the ceremony. |

sacerdote arriva e Domenico con Filumena, accompagnati dai tre
giovani, si sposano. La cerimonia finisce e tutto il gruppo festeggia
bevendo spumante. Domenico e Filumena restano soli. Domenico
finalmente capisce che «I figli sono figli» e Filumena
per la prima volta nella sua vita riesce a piangere perché
ora conosce il bene e la felicità. |

Finally,
the priest arrives and the two are married. After the wedding
they celebrate with the whole crowd and wine. Domenico and Filumena
are left alone. Domenico understands that "I figli sono
figli", all equally important, and Filumena for the first
time in her life is able to cry because now she knows happiness. |
