The course subject focuses on the reason why precision alignment is necessary, mistake done without realising it while doing alignment work. Pitfall in alignment process. How to measure and offset bar sag. Identify and rectify soft foot problem. How to measure actual machine movement due to thermal growth. Practical exercise on all methods of alignment is carried out during the courses. Method of doing alignment without dismantling the coupling and technique on alignment with the shaft not turning. The course covers all alignment methods such as straight edge, feeler gauge, dial indicator, Rim & Face, reversed dial method, long spool (shaft) and laser.
