RULES

Fantasy Football involves selecting and managing your own squad of players. These players are awarded points based on their performances in real games. You then compete in a league against other Fantasy Football managers.

Team Management

Each manager enters one squad which must consist of:

2 x Goalkeepers

6 x Defenders

6 x Midfielders

4 x Strikers

Each player has a value. The total value of your squad must not exceed 80 million Euros.

From your 18 player squad you select 11 players to form your team. Only selected squad (i.e. team) players contribute points. You can change your team from within your squad as many times as you like.

Your team can play in one of the following formations:

Style GK DEF MID STR
4-4-2 One Four Four Two
5-3-2 One Five Three Two
4-3-3 One Four Three Three
4-5-1 One Four Five One
3-5-2 One Three Five Two
3-4-3 One Three Four Three

During Euro 2000, the fantasy game players will be allocated a point score after each game, based on their performances in the Euro 2000 matches. The site will be updated after the first, second and third round group matches, the quarter finals, the semi finals and the final (6 updates).

Extra time counts if played, penalty shoot-outs do not.

Action Points
For taking any part in the game 1 point
Goals scored by goalkeepers or defenders 6 points
Goals scored by midfielders 5 points
Goals scored by strikers 4 points
Assists 3 points
Goalkeepers conceeding 0 goals (and playing for at least 60 minutes) 5 points
Defenders conceeding 0 goals (and playing for at least 60 minutes) 4 points
Midfielders conceeding 0 goals (and playing for at least 60 minutes) 2 points
Goals conceeded (after the first) by your Goalkeeper or Defenders -1 point
For every yellow card -1 point
For every red card (includes any yellow card points) -3 points

Captains

You must nominate a member of your squad to be the team captain. Your team captain will score double points. The captain can be changed at any time during Euro 2000.

Transfers

You can still wheel and deal in the transfer market after you have selected your squad. Unlimited Squad transfers can be made. However these come at a cost of one point after Euro 2000 has started. Before Euro 2000 starts, transfers are free of charge.

After you make a transfer, your new signing will join your squad, and if you want him to play it may be necessary to alter your team selection.

A new player's cumulative points will be those scored by the old player before being transferred, plus those scored by the new player from the next series of games.

Terms and Conditions

This competition is run in accordance with the British Code of Sales Promotion.

Each competitor may enter up to two different teams by using multiple email addresses. The entering of more than two teams will result in the disqualification of all the competitiors teams.

Winners will be notified by email at the end of the competition.

The name of the winner will be posted on the home page of the site, at the end of the competition.

The winner will be the manager of the team that scores most points according to the rules stated above. In the event of a tie, the winner will be the player who has made the most transfers. If there is still a tie the winner will be the manager of the team who entered the earliest.

The organiser's decision on all scoring is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

* These rules are not final and may change before the new season begins
