El Capitan

El Capitan (aka El Cap to us locals) is considered the guardian of the valley. Standing over 3,000 feet high, it's one of the largest exposed monoliths in the world! It's a very popular spot for rock climbers and sitting in the meadow watching the climbers is a very popular pasttime with tourists here. I like the cloud cover the top in this picture. It seems to add a lot to it.
