PREVIOUS UPDATES

August 15, 2004

Okay, here's what happened:

I was kidnapped by aliens in my sleep and they sucked out all my drawing talent for an undetermined amount of time.

Not buying? 'Kay, here's the truth: All I ended up with this week were about five pages of crappy sketches and a few stab-marks in the paper. I just haven't the patience to muck with my drawing when it's not cooperating ... I end up punching through walls.

So in light of this, I give you a treat: the entire previous run of "
Randomly Bemused", which I did when my art was first climbing from its primordial muck, and it ran for seventeen pages.

You can find it in the
Comics page.

Wish me happy drawing this week, 'cuz I'm almost out of crappy old stuff to throw at you.

Well, this is just the suckiest update in the world:

One new picture added to the X-Men Fan Art gallery.

Yes, I'm afraid that's it. It was just a craptacular week as far as drawing was concerned ... though the one pic I did manage to spit up turned out pretty good.

Blargh.

This week plain SUCKED with a capital 'S'. I was sick as a dog the night before a 6am opening shift, I had to run around all week cashing mutuals and transfering funds to make sure I had enough money to pay my school fees, which are due in three days btw, and I plain FORGOT I even had a website to update.

The plus side of this is: I got love and sympathy from my wonderful boyfriend Jesse, who did a bang-up job taking care of me while I was delirious with pain and sicky-ness. I wound up with three times as much money than I needed for this semester, which means I don't need to take out a loan until next year (YAY!). And, forgetting that I'd set aside the time for website updating, I got a laze-around-do-nothing day on Friday.

So here's the update, a couple days late, for all that:

3 new pictures have been added to Original Crap: New Stuff.

Despite what I said last time, I added
one new picture to Original Stuff: Revamped.

Lastely,
one new picture added to the X-Men Fan Art gallery.

Well, that's all folks. Tune in next time to see if next week will be any better than the last.

<Looks at the date. Blinks.>

I suppose, having disappeared off the face of the earth for the last month, I owe an explanation. Shortly after the last update, I moved back in with Jesse, what with him being back in the country and all. Internet was installed only about ... yea, three days ago.

But was I idle? No, I was not! For now that I had a Good Scanner and Photoshop back, I could rescan every single image to much better quality, AND do touch-ups. Not only that, but packing and unpacking my crap resulted in finding a bunch of artsy stuff I'd thought lost or destroyed long ago. Not only that, but a month is a lot of time to draw, work and moving notwithstanding.

So this week's list is as follows:

Original Crap: New Stuff has been reconfigured to thumbnails, every item rescanned to better quality, and 13 (OMG!!!) new pictures have been added.

One new picture was added to Original Crap: Old Stuff, everything rescanned, with added to the comic pages.

Original Crap: Revamped has been completed, with everything rescanned and 4 new pictures added.

A
Contests page was added under Extras.

The
X-Men Fan Art gallery was rescanned.
2 new Sprite Comics were added to X-Men Fan Comics.

It took me three whole days, but I finally finished updating. For those poor souls who happened to visit in the last three days only to find the place in shambles, my apologies.

Okay, I'm sorry about missing last week's update.

My boyfriend came back home from Japan (he's been there since February) and needless to say, I was a little distracted from my work.

So, the only new stuff today are two new Sprite Comics up in the
Fan Section, under Comics. I have new sketches done, but my scanner's being a butt and I didn't have time to mess with it.

Next time, I promise.

I'm also busy getting ready for school in the fall, (did you know a student loan application is like 20 friggin' pages long?!!
Gyaah!!), so updates might continue to be sporadic.

Hopefully come September, I'll be better at managing my time.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy!

They said I couldn't do it! I showed them, I did!

Okay, on this weeks list:  four, count 'em, FOUR new pictures up in
Original Crap: New Stuff, one new pic up in the Fan Section (under Art), aaaaaaaaaaaannnndd ...

SPRITE COMICS!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry, I'm so excited about this. I actually went and DID something. My regular comics still need competent storylines (one still needs a title) so I figured I should muck around with something to give myself a creative outlet.

There are three comics, and they are up in the
Fan Section, under Comics.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee ...

Alrighty then!
We now have: a
Fan Section, an Extras page and a Links page.

Hot damn, am I tired!

The only thing in the
Fan Section are those X-Men drawings and the only thing in the Extras page is a quote, but by golly, I've got a ton of links for you to check out!!

I can't believe I'm encouraging you to leave my own site.

Okay, I promise I will have some new pictures scanned by the next update, and maybe some comic scans as well. PROMISE!

Please don't leave me.

Japan Rocks.

Honestly, it kicks so much arse, I can't even begin to describe. I did, however, manage to use up about twelve rolls of film (twenty-five exp. per roll, you do the math), so once I get them developed I'm going to get one of those online photo-album thingies and then you can all live through my wonderful experiences.

One Important thing: In Kyoto there is a store that sells manga for about 105 yen (about a dollar-twenty-five Canadian, I think). Yes, the anime freaks may commence drooling now. But more importantly, they were selling a bunch of issues of this old X-Men Manga that pretty much chronicles the nineties cartoon show.

Which means that once I get it translated, I can put up never-before-seen pages of X-Men that never was and likely never will be released in the Western World. So all you X-Men fans have my permission to cry with joy. Now, cry with sadness when I tell you they most certainly will NOT be up until at least a couple months from now. Because I do not have Photoshop right now, and I just can't get the hang of Paintshop Pro.

On the other news, actually concerning the site, the
Original Crap page has been edited to a more convienient format, and I've moved the Upcoming Comics list to the Comics page. I'll probably do a whole lot of work on the site while I'm recovering from jetlag (right now it's about three in the morning, but to me it feels like only about six or seven at night). Which means we might finally have a links page and I can start contacting other people about this thing. Watch that hit counter rise, baby! Woot!

Oh, one more important thing: CANANDIAN CUSTOMS SUCK ARSE!!!
I brought back a whole load of shuriken and throwing knives and cool stuff, and customs searched my bag and confiscated all of it because apparently, you're not allowed to bring pretty, shiny stuff into the country. I got a slap on the wrist, a warning to read up on what's allowed through customs and a receipt for the "legal confiscation" of about forty bucks worth of really cool weaponry.

They let me keep the katanas I bought, though. Go fig.

There will be another rant about that, an extremely long and cussy one. I think all rants might go in the Extras page, once we get an Extras page.

Until then, yo to all in beautiful downtown Calgary. I'm gettin' me some sleep.

"I'm going to update once a week" she said. "I'm not going to slack off on this" she said. HA!

Well,  many apologies nonetheless, and some good news: I have pictures! Right now they're under
Original Crap. Just some tidbitties for you to feast your eyes on.

Whee!

Oh, at least pretend to be excited ... I can probably count the number of people who know about this site on one frigging hand.

So no one would really be interested to know that I am leaving for Japan in two days. Hah, thought that would getcha, those who didn't already know. So yeah, there will be no update next week. After that, we'll see.

There will probably be more, eventually, but these are what I'm working on for now.

See ya in a couple weeks. Stay cool.
