The most important part of a HARDCORE 4x4! The tires themselves. They and they alone will decide if you make it to the other side. Remember: Everything else you have done is riding ON these tires.
That is why tire choice is very important yet easy at the same time. Get the BIGGEST BADDEST tires you can afford. And don't spare the piggy bank, either. If money is really tight, consider selling what you are running now. And don't forget, NEW is great, but a 1/2 wore out set of 44's will walk away from a brand new set of 40's. No shame in secondhand, especially considering you can easily tie up $4,000 in just rims and tires.
What kind? Well, there is just a handful to pick from and right now the "Bogger" is widely known as the ultimate tire. It is the largest and most aggressive on the market. Then you have the TSL Super Swampers, also a very hard pulling tire. And then there are always Monster Mudders, the originals that started it all.
Just don't settle for a smaller set than what you want. You will regret it, later. Once you run a set of 44's, the only other tires you might put on your truck will be street tires for highway driving. |
