Very nice page. I especially like the County Kerry Marriage pages. I am looking for my great grandparents Michael Callaghan b. 1878 in Castleisland, County Kerry, Ire., d. Jan. 4, 1908 in Chicago, Cook, Ill. m. 21 Jun. 1905 in Chicago, Ill., Katharina Bar
on b. 1878 in , County Kerry, Ire., d. aft. 1940. Michael was a Chicago police officer killed in the line of duty. The birth and death certs. do not have much info. (such as parents b. in Ire.) and the P.D. can not help so it has been slow going. I have f
und 3 Callaghan's and 2 Barton's on your pages that may be the parents (especially one that married a Kearney as I have an indir. ances. named Kearne.) Thank you so much for this poss. start of my ggrandparents' parents.

We held the Kennon Family Reunion in St. Louis, MO yesterday. My Uncle Arthur Kennon claims that we are Irish and that Kennon means "white haired." My ancestry goes back to Doctor Richard and Elizabeth Worsham Kennon of Conjurers Neck, VA prior to 1670.
He is supposed to have migrated here from Ireland. I don't expect any genealogy research nor am I asking. I just want to know if indeed Kennon is an Irish surname?

Spent five hours to-day, going through all of them, and found some of my own. Finding one for my great great grandfather's second marriage, solved a family mystery also, which has enabled me to go back further in my own search.,
I had reached the brick wall, and have now jumped over it, with your great work.

your site is delightful for these tired eyes after doing researh for about 20 years. Did not read it all yet as there are so many things.
Esp. thankful to you for the book listing and where to purchase them.
My ancestors were from Ireland before and during part of the famine, but they along with so many Irish had to leave their beloved homeland, mine came to America.
Could you possible list any information you have on a famine ship called 'The Jane Black" sailed out of Limerick.
My ancstors came aboard this ship, but I can not find any information.

Very readable and enjoyable site!. Hope I'll find a clue to my maternal grandmother, Anastatia (sia?) Power(s) who I believe lived in Waterford and had one daughter Rita Bridget Power(s), b. March 31, 1909. Anastatia's husband said to be Michael Powers. I
ll revisit this site like clockwork. Wonderful.

Thanks for a great site! I believe that I've located an uncle & aunt that I didn't know about. He was Daniel Kennedy of Waterloo Lane, Tralee and I know that my father and his family lived in Waterloo Lane. His father's name was John (my middle name
) although that is such a common middle name in Ireland that it's not a reliable indicator. Any hope that you will eventually include the early 1870's and post-1880 marriages?
Thanks for all the work.

Your site looks good and informative. I've never had any luck researching my Scotch/Irish ancestors in Ireland. It's either I don't know how to go about it or they can't be found. I've mainly worked on the McMullan family but have Cunningham and Crawford
onnections too. Maybe this site can be the connection needed.

Nice job you have done; my roots trace to Antrim Co (my wife's family), Co Cavan (my O'Reilly g grandmother) & my mystery Murphys from God knows where in Ireland. I've not given up tracing them but for now I can only trace back to a Wm B Murphy born 1798
n Eastern Shore of Maryland; can't determine who his parents were or when that family may have traveled from Ireland. Charlie Murphy age 67 retired attorney, grandfather of 9 1/2.
