Tournament Summary: The first round saw a number of close games, none closer than Gringos de Verga's epic double overtime win. Team Nobody Fucks With da Jesus was simply dominating in their first two rounds of play, and set themselves on course for a grudge match with Super Fun Happy Team Bring Honor to Family.

The story behind these two premiere IPA teams dates way back before the IPA even existed. Ryan M. and Mike B. were teammates before the IPA was born. A falling out between the two occurred after one too many jokes about Ryan's mom. Ryan went on to team with Pat M. and Mike found a fiesty partner in Aaron "Townie" T. The two teams met in the semifinals of the IIT, and a heated match it was. Ryan and Mike's animosity towards each other seemed to fuel their skills. They went shot for shot on the faceoff until Mike finally succumbed to Ryan's overwhelming pressure. The game, initially a close one, was put nearly out of reach when Ryan and Pat each hit a cup, sending the balls back for re-shots. What started out a certain IPA classic turned into a route, with Super Fun Happy Team Bring Honor to Family winning 10-7.

The other semifinal game was even more impressive. Mike A. & Mike T. of Remember Drunken Monopoly lined up against a mix-match team of Matt B. & Ben F. Ben played three games in the tournament with three different partners. This game went overtime, with Mike T. hitting an off-balance shot for the final rebuttal to stay alive. A three-cup was played, in which Mike T. stayed hot and carried his team to victory.

The Finals of the Preseason IIT were relatively disappointing based on the high level of play throughout the tournament. Of the four players involved, only Ryan M. played up to form, sinking 8 of 15 shots and leading Super Fun Happy Team Bring Honor to Family to victory over Remember Drunken Monopoly. Asked to comment on his team's great success, Ryan M. thanked God and praised his opponents for their honorable play.

The results of each match, as well as pictures of the tournament, will be posted shortly. Thanks to all the teams that came out to play. The Commish would like to wish everyone a great IPA season.
