| 20 Pearls Girls |
| 20 Pearls Girls is a mentoring program for women of color on the Brown University campus and young ladies at Hope High School in Providence. The purpose of the program is to foster positive relationships between older and younger women of our communities - giving positive female images for younger generations to emulate. Mentors are encouraged to invite mentees to activities on campus as well as attend events at Hope High School. |
| Community Preparatory School |
| Volunteers at Community Prep visit once a week to work with third and fourth graders. Community Prep is a pre-college preparatory middle school which primarily enrolls low-income children of color from Providence. The focus of the program is drama, writing, and dance. All participants enjoy fun, creative activities with energetic and loving children. |
| Traveler's Aid of Providence |
| Traveler's Aid is a non-profit social service agency providing counseling, case management, and advocacy services for individuals and families who are in transit, in transition, or homeless. Volunteers at Traveler's Aid help to sort clothes that have been donated and set-up/serve meals. |
| AKAPIMS (Partnership in Math & Science) Scholarship |
| The Alpha Kappa Alpha Partnership in Matb and Science scholarship is an annual scholarship given by the Iota Alpha Chapter. The scholarship is to aide one outstanding high school senior in the Providence area who wishes to pursue a math or science oriented curriculum in college. |
| Black History Month Soulfood Mixer |
| Held in February, the Soulfood Mixer is an opportunity to celebrate the rich culture of African-Americans through traditional cuisine. Participants enjoy good food and fellowship. |
| Skee-Week |
| Skee-Week, held in the spring semester of each year, is a week of Iota Alpha sponsored campus events. Promoting the targets and principles of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the week's activities range from forums on issues concerning various communities to social events that foster positive relationships on campus. |
