| The John Hope Settlement House is an extension of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated's international ONTRACK program. It is an educational outreach program for predominately minority third and fourth-graders. Children in the program are exposed to key aspects of learning such as reading, writing skills, mathematics, and spelling. Through creative, hands-on activities the children are given a chance to interact with each other in a relaxed and playful environment. The purpose of the program is to reinforce educational concepts taught in schools and to supply children with added skills that can be used in a classroom setting. |
