| April 6th | Sunday OHanami Potluck BBQ Party in Osaka Come and enjoy the beautiful spring air, sunshine, the gorgeous cherry blossoms, good food and friends. Leaders: Moa [email protected] or Jacquelyn [email protected] Time: Begins at noon Costs: Free Bring: The charcoal and BBQ stove will be provided. BYO drinks and meat and veggies to grill. Also, please bring one dish to share. Directions: JR Sakuranomiya Station, on the Loop Line. Take the west exit, face the river (north) cross the road, then begin walking east along the pedestrian / cycling path until you find the IOC group. We will settle in the best spot closest to the station that we can find. ____________________________________________________ April 12th | Saturday IOC Meeting April's monthly meeting will include a presentation by Estella Dean on how to plan a trip. Time: Newcomers welcome at 18:00. Regular members come at 18:30. See the map for directions to get there ____________________________________________________ April 13th | Sunday Yoshino Ride, Nara * A good training route for the intermediate cycler, and a chance to see some more great sakura. Leader: Jacquelyn <Join the event!> ph.078-802-3585 Directions: Meet at Kintetsu, Abenobashi Station, Osaka. Notes: The ride will begin from Tsubosakayama station, heading to Yoshino and loop around to Lake Tsuburo. Another climb back to the Asuka area. Heights to 600m, 50-60 km distance. ____________________________________________________ April 13th | Sunday Mountain Bike Ride on the Christian Trail ** Mountain bike ride in the scenic countryside hills of Ibaraki. We will have a tea break at the Madama Mura, learn about Christian refugees during the Tokugawa period, forests, hanami and BBQ as well.
