HOW DO WE KNOW JESUS WAS MORE THAN JUST AN ORDINARY MAN?
Because He Said So
Now wait a minute, did she just say because he said so? Yuppers. He claimed it many times, but what does that mean to us?
Well, it is not really disputed that he lived, as we have historical proof, it is not disputed that he died on the cross as that was a common execution method, the question is simply who he was.
So let's look at what he said. He said He was God.
You don't think its true though. . . huh, hmmm..
Then he must have been lying! Of course! Except what type of person lies? One that cares only for themselves right? He was very giving. His oponents never questioned his miracles. He produced a religion based on ethics, love and generosity. And the biggy. You think that the electric chair is a harsh way to die. Try Cruxifixion. It is a slow, painful death. I doubt a liar would produce a loving, ethical religion based on truth and then die in torture for it.
Ok then, he's crazy.If He said he was God but wasn't it would be like my saying I'm a poached egg. He'd be nuts. His teachings are recognized by believers and non-believers alike for their sound ethics, the best ever taught. He lived in a small town, didn't travel far, and yet he has influenced every nation in the world. Not likely the work of a lunatic.
Non-Christian writers such as Josephus and Tacitus prove that he existed and the Gospel accounts were written shortly after his death, when people who knew him were still around so there was no chance that legend could have developed.
So He must have been who he claimed to be.
