The Bible is Just Good Fiction Right? WRONG |
Actually there a number of reasons in which we can feel confident about the bible |
How do we know who ruled over England in the the 1500's, How do we know who Joan of Arc was, How do we know who Aristotle was, What country did Caeser rule?
Simple, we look at historical records. One of the most interesting aspects of human nature is how we accept that historical records that discuss the life of a french peasant girl, but we are quick to dismiss the bible as human fabrication. |

ARCHAEOLOGICAL EVIDENCE |
"It may be stated that no archeaological discovery has ever controverted a bibical refrence." Nelson Glueck, Jewiish Archaeologist |
Not only has the bible not been disprovedm but many claims confirm bibical tales.
For example many inscriptions refer to names of rulers mentioned in the bible, but for a while there was no other proof. They have found the double walls of Jericho which were destroyed near the end of the bronze age (by the army led by Joshua) And many other events.
The book of Acts refers to many details which have been backed up by archeaology. |
Also, non-christians have writen accounts of Jesus. Josephus, Tacitus, Pliny fo example. They mention details about him, John the Baptistm, his crucifixion and the actions of His followers. |

IT'S UNITY |
The bible had over 40 authors from all diffrent walks of life. It was writen over a 1500 year span. It was written in three languages on three continents. And it doesn't contradict. |

PROPHECY |
Many things the bible has predicted have come true. Take for example the city of Tyre. This what the bible said. |
WHAT WAS PREDICTED: 1. Nebuchadnezzar will take the city 2. Other nations will participate in the fullfillment 3. The city is to be made flat like the top of a rock 4. It is to become a place for spreading nets 5. Its stones and timbers are to be laid to the sea. 6. The old city of Trye will never be rebuilt.
Ezekail 26:3-5,7,12,14,16 predicted this |
WHAT HAPPENED: According to history and modern day observations.
Nebuchadnezzar took the city but the people escaped to an island.
Alexander the Great took the island by building a land bridge with the rubble of the old city. Flattening the city.
The old site is a fishing hole but no city is built |
