SUCCESS IN EXAMS
Mayank Joshi, IAS topper 2003 (4th position) says: "Success in the Civil Service Examination depends on a positive condition of mind and body, or power of work and courage. The more you invest yourself in the examination, the better are your chances of success. He points out some traits that candidates should possess in order to succeed:
Planning: Make a time table according to your needs and requirements.
Prioritize: Set yourself a final goal and list your daily tasks. You should follow a routine.
Goal setting: As a sub-plan, you should daily set targets. It should be well planned. You should give your heart and soul to it.
Time Management: Calculate time and allocate available hours to each subject proportionately to their syllabus.
Material and guidance: Reading good books and having the right guidance is essential. Good reading helps clarify concepts and strengthens fundamentals.
Environment: The place of study and environment play an important role in success.
Writing: Be very particular about writing answers. To-the-point answers are appreciated.
Retrospecting: Always spare spare time to think about what you have studied and prepared.
Exercise: You should be physically fit. Set aside 15-20 minutes for daily physical exercise.
