| Featured Stones of 2006 |
| Amber is the fossilized resin from tree sap, usually dark to light golden in color, although sometimes quite red or even green, and can sometimes be found with animal, insect, or even crystal inclusions (see bottom photo). The most powerful and appraised Amber is 50-60 million years old. Because of its age and rarity, Amber is quite expensive.
Amber is a powerful transmuter of negative energies, emitting its sunny golden glow into anything dark, easing tension and lifting the spirit. Excellent for the lower three chakras, Amber represents a protecting and manifesting energy, but it also can stimulate the crown chakra. Many people are drawn to Amber for its uniqueness, and jewelry and incense has been made out of this non-crystal for centuries, dating back to Egyptian use from one of the most powerful Ambers from the ancient cedar trees, and appearing in Egyptian hieroglyphs. Conifer trees are also the source of the ancient use of Frankincense and Myrrh. Also used in the Native American tribal fire ceremonies, Amber was used to clear the environment of negativity. It is also one of the stones in the breastplate of the High Priest for protection and post-death ascension. The Chinese thought Amber contained the souls of many tigers and the power of many suns. It will not only purify the environment, but the physical body as well, said to align and balance the electro-magnetic fields of the physical body, and drawing people with imbalances, such as depression, to it for relief. It will stimulate the bodys natural healing abilities, and is excellent for lightworkers to use in session or on themselves to absorb the negative energies (needing clearing often if so). It increases self radiance and self-worth. In ancient Egypt it was used as an elixir for a penicillin-type remedy as well as embalming. |

| February Tanzanite- the Magic Stone |
| Last February I had chosen Amethyst as the featured stone, and after reading Carol Holadays report in Planet Lightworker, I was tempted to write some more on Amethyst. But I believe this month to be a clearing one as well as for manifestation. Good for clearing out before the retrograde and the eclipses, finishing projects, and re-communing with yourself and mother earth. What better stone to manifest love and all your hearts desires with than the even deeper purple beauty, Tanzanite.
Of the 4 mines in Tanzania where the priciest of zoisites, Tanzanite, is mined, two are mi ned out, one does not produce a deep color, and so the remaining mine, which produces the deepest of purple in hue, is all that is left on Earth. Sadly, it would be best to have some of it left in the Earth, and the last few years of mining this stone will be heavily guarded, over-priced, and quarrelsome. If you do not have any of this stone already, purchase it now or never, preferably used, and in the deepest hue. Excellent for the highest three chakras, Tanzanite takes your earthly being and brings together all aspects of communication and psychic power, producing visions, ascending vibrations, and creating the perfect symmetry of personal power and actualization. Said to be the Stone of Magic, Tanzanite was once used by the ancient Celtic chiefs for visionary purposes and communicating with the spiritual realm. Consequently, Tanzanite is hardly available, and I have chosen two other stones to help you in manifesting your dreams this month before the March back-slide sets in, Rutilated Quartz and Smoky Quartz; a Rutilated Smoky would be exponential if you can find one! Rutilated Quartz intensifies the power of the quartz by ten-fold. Its gold threads bring the physical vibration above the 7th chakra, aura or realm into its perfect state of being, able to heal itself, create its desires, and truly release all that is not of best interest to itself. Do not use this stone lightly, manifestation can sometimes be instantaneous. Smoky Quartz is also a stone of manifestation, said to bring dreams into reality. Programming one of these is an excellent way to manifest your goals. Clear your crystal first, then hold it in your right hand, focus on your intention, and state your key phrase as many times as you feel necessary. |

| March Turquoise - Healing Everywhere |
| This magnificent stone deserves an entire book to its credit, as it has been honored since the Lemurians and has historic recognition of wealth up to modern times. Because of its wide population on this planet, Turquoise has been used all over the world in all cultures. Native Americans used it for cloud busting (rain), Mayans used it to represent the goddess, Tibetan Shamans used it for spiritual quests, Egyptians used it for divination, and the Irish for adornment although the name itself is Turkish.
Turquoise is a master healer, aligning all chakras meridians and subtle bodies, elevating them to a higher level. But logically, this stone is also good for the throat chakra (for its appropriate hue), and is therefore good for a clear and deep communication on all levels with both the physical and spiritual realms. It will also smooth out arguments and allow all in its presence to speak the truth. Excellent for vision quests and astral travel, Turquoise is also said to protect the spirit when it is outside the body. Turquoise has also been used for protection of other physical items such as the home, against accidents, and children and animals. Great for children, Turquoise will protect them against bullying and yet also encourage them to speak up in class. Gemstone elixirs are the best way to get crystal energy into children without losing or risking the integrity of the stone. Because it is one of our master healers, this beauty instills a love of beauty on anyone around it, and many who dont appreciate gemstones even appreciate its color and texture, drawn to those that wear it. It emanates a pure positive energy that dissipates negative energy; good for large crowds or parties, this stone will protect its wearer against any unwanted energies. It also acts as a strengthener to its owner, and will strengthen the entire anatomy for disorders and dis-ease, nutrients, regeneration of tissue, circulation of muscular tissue, headaches, and repair of physical damage. It assists with stability of the bone structure, and will skin disorders as well. Last, good for wishing in this time of easy manifestation, hold Turquoise in your palms and name your intentions seven times. Although opaque, Turquoise fades in sunlight and oils, so charge and cleanse them in the moon or clear water. |

| May Chrysocolla, to help clear |
| Chrysocolla, also known as gem silica, is most often found growing with favorite green Malachite and deep red Cuprite, adding these additional qualities to the mix. Known for many things other than cleansing, this beauty purifies its home and environment, eliminating negativity from within a person. Also promoting harmony by helping one to release distress from negative emotions while furthering the understanding of others and their suffering. Good for all the chakras during this stressful time of ascension, Chrysocolla brings a unique vibration to each chakra on its own level. Revitilizing and calming for the lower three chakras, easing emotional pain and giving renewed strength to the heart chakra, balancing expression with clear communication at the throat chakra, finally bringing the higher two chakras to their upmost ability. Seemingly whatever your ailment, this gem will assist. Chrysocolla helps one attune to the perfection of the universe, providing insight necessary to the mind/body/spirit to fasciliate realignment toward the perfect state of health. | JULY Aquamarine, For Peace |
| Aquamarine, once dedicated to the sea goddesses and used for safe keeping against the storm, is a cooling and calming stone for the heat during the summer months. A native water sign herself, Aquamarine is ruled by Pisces, and brings the cool element of water to any situation.
Aquamarine relieves sore throats, tooth and gum problems, fluid retention, digestive, bladder and kidney disorders, colds and upper respiratory difficulties, seasickness, and all forms of travel queasiness. It eases pain and overcomes panic attacks and phobias, especially those while traveling. Very useful for healing elements of the sea, Aquamarine is also said to assist endangered oceanic species such as dolphins and whales. This blue beauty helps to re-establish a loving communication, and balances the throat chakra so that it works evenly with the chakras surrounding it. It increases intuition, psychic awareness, and clairvoyance. Also good for meditaton and visualization, its roots lie deep in the history of Atlantis and Lemuira |
