Violet, born 4/7/07, lilac long hair Chihuahua, 8 pounds, CKC registered Violet came from a breeder near Joilet, IL. Her color is called many things in Chihuahuas lilac, lavender, dilute chocolate, blue chocolate. She carries for cream as her father was cream. Her mother was chocolate. She is a bigger Chihuahua, but we felt this would help her give birth safely. She has solid legs on the shorter side making her body appear longer than average. She had a molera as a puppy but it has closed completely. Her long hair is very silky, but not overly full. She does prefer Jason, but still sleeps by me sometimes and kisses me until I can't stand it anymore. She is such a kisser!!! She oddly wont generally play with dog toys and chews all she does is hide them. She is the most likely one in the group to get into things she shouldnt. She is the one who finds small toys under my sons bed and chews them up. She also loves to carry around the empty dog dish, not sure why. She is very friendly with strangers, giving them kisses within a few minutes. Violet should have been bred in late October, but refused to let either of the boys get near her. We will try again with Digby in May or so.

Cricket, born 6/20/07, blue and cream short hair Chihuahua, 4 pounds, CKC registered Cricket came from pet owners in Canton, OH who only owned the two Chihuahuas. She is what is known as a deer type Chihuahua, because she has longer legs than the typical Chihuahua. She is a tiny girl otherwise. We had no idea she would stay so small when we got her. Her father was on the large side, a short hair very pale cream, and her mother was a long hair fawn sable and white of average size. Neither were as leggy as she is we thought she might grow into them, but that never happened. Hopefully she is able to free birth as her mother did. Seeing how one of her parents were long haired, when bred to one of our boys, she should have half long coat and half short coat babies. She still has a molera, but she is young. It might yet close. Personality-wise, she has a favorite person. She is a big cuddler she could sit in a lap all day long. She never picked on her doggie friends, even through her terrible teens. She is also friendly with strangers in the home. She doesn't like going places or seeing strangers outside of home. She only barks when startled by strange noises, which include the swishing of nylon pants, for some odd reason. She is my favorite girl dog. Her first litter should be in early 2009. We are giving her extra time due to her small size.

Gracie, born 8/25/07 chocolate dapple long hair miniature dachshund, 11 pounds, CKC registered Gracie came from a breeder in Missouri. She was our first dachshund. We had heard that they were born clowns, and see it first hand. She is a very silly, and very clumsy, girl. She is very sweet, though, and enjoys being held. She is also a very cuddly sleeper, and sleeps deeply the whole night through. She loves to play with toys. Due to the conditions her breeder kept her in, she was very hard to potty break. She and Cricket don't get along so well - one of them is the bottom rung of the pecking order, and each thinks the other should be that last dog. Cricket says she was here first, Gracie says she is bigger. Her first litter will be in early 2009.

Molly Born 12/4/05 Half Chihuahua, Half rat terrier, adult weight 7.5 pounds (no registry) NOW SPAYED - NO MORE PUPPIES FOR MOLLY We got Molly from friends she was our first little dog, who showed us that little dogs have such awesome personalities. We never intended for her to have puppies, but we assumed incorrectly that Mijo was too young to care when she went into heat in the summer of 2007. Then because of some other financial issues, we did not get around to having her spayed before her next heat, and Mijo once again figured out a way around the barriers to get her again. But she is an excellent mother and her puppies have all stayed small despite the rat terrier in them. She has a longer nose than most Chihuahuas, and loves to play fetch, but otherwise she seems more Chihuahua than rat terrier. Digby is visible in the background of this photo.

Twinkle Born 9/24/08 long coat black chihuahua, APRI and CKC registered, projecting 4-5 pounds full grown Since Violet was not permitting the boys to be with her when she is in heat, and her heat cycles are irregular and poorly spaced, I felt it necessary to add another girl to our family so that Digby has someone with which to make merle puppies. We brought Twinkle home on 1/11/09 at 15 weeks old. She reminds me of Gonzo in her attitudes. She is very happy go lucky. She loves people attention, isn't afraid of the other dogs, defends her toys. She acts like she was born into our family. Her name had been Princess, but we have all agreed to rename her Twinkle, as in Twinkle toes, because she really prances when she walks, and she has tiny touches of white on her toes on three of her feet.
