    • Swedish Massage is a very relaxing type of work commonly found in most spas and resorts. It specializes in kneading and milking the body tissues to release toxins and increase circulation. It is very nice for transitional movements from one area of the body to another.

    • Deep Tissue Massage is a popular form of work for areas of increased stress and tension. The focus is to get through the superficial layers and into the core or source of the problem. It is often used for old injury sites that have built up layers of protection and pain, areas of over or misuse, and target sites for gravitational pull and strain on the body.

    • Another form of body work that is used to treat increased pain and discomfort is Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT). Formulated by Janet Travell, this technique specializes in nerve referral patterns and "trigger points" found in the pain-spasm-pain cycle of tension. It is very effective treatment that I like to incorporate into my sessions.

    • Ringing a familiar tune with Trigger Pointing is the ancient Chinese art of Acupressure and Acupuncture. Founded centuries before NMT, Acupressure focuses on the energy pathways, "meridians", of the body and unblocking the vital "chi" force that flows through them. Necessary for our survival, the positive and negative, "yin and yang", are the elemental charges for our energy along with the five elements.

    • Reflexology is the manipulation of reflex points on the feet and hands to stimulate the corresponding body organs, tissue, muscles, energy, and biochemical levels. A fantastic treat for everyone's feet.

    • Myokinesthetics is a new treatment for range of motion rehabilitation developed and taught by Dr. Michael Uriate, a chiropractor from Kansas City. It uses kinetic movements and exercises while pressing trigger points to relieve pain and re-train muscle tissue. I often use this technique for joints that have been previously dislocated or misaligned.

    • Healing Touch is a wonderful energy work that I learned from Jane Hightower, a certified teacher from Healing Touch in Colorado. It focuses on the healing power of the chakras and the aura of the body. There is a link to the home page for this work on my links page.

    • Polarity is another body energy work which teaches the practitioner to be mindful of the magnetic fields encompassing the body. By balancing these charges, a person can release tension being held by it. Quite simple really.

    • The use of water to treat the tissue of the body is called Hydrotherapy. Moist heat is extremely helpful in hydrating and relaxing tight, brittle muscles. On the other hand, a cold compress is ideal for inflammation/swelling and post work out releases. But together, by using contrast, shin splints and many other common fascial pains can be eliminated.

    • Aromatherapy is by far one of my favorite treatments to include in my sessions simply because of the olfactory and psychological stimulus. But essential oils have a large medicinal purpose as well. Most of our medicines today were derived from nature, and by using Raindrop Therapy the body can incorporate these into the system during massage. It gives a person the sensation of being blessed.

    • Ear Coning is a safe and effective manner of cleansing the ear wax from the ear canal. I personally find it relaxing and also helps with any ear, nose, or throat problems. The head feels clear and there is a balance that is restored as well. Ear cones are made of cotton muslin and dipped in paraffin or bees wax. They are carefully shaped into an elongated cone and that creates a vacuum when lit at the large end with the small end slightly in the ear.

    • Hot Stone Massage was developed long ago by the native islanders of Hawaii. Warm lava stones are used to massage the body while releasing heat into tissues head to toe and earth energy throughout the soul.

    • Pregnancy Massage is a requirement in some countries paid for by the mother of the groom. Sometimes I wish customs could be adopted quickly and without hesitation! But in the mean time, we can always rely on our Obgyn to encourage the movement. The benefits of prenatal, postnatal and infant massage are truly innumerable. This is a sacred time in a woman's life and birth is the most traumatizing for the newborn. It is indeed a necessity that everyone be relaxed and prepared.

    • Structural Integration- The Ida Rolf Method is my current course of study. There is a link to The Guild for Structural Integration on my links page. I have discovered many things already, but none like the work I study now. The sessions have put me through a whirlwind of change and transformational bliss. I had never known myself until I released my patterns and learned my natural way. Not only the way that my structure, by body as a whole, desires to be, but the way that my soul desires to be.Free, Balanced, and Comfortable. My mind, body, & soul. I want to bring this to the world, to as many as will listen.
