There are many things that I have in mind of what I want to say relating to the church service, the AY pep talk, the sermon on the radio, or the news. Here you will find what my thoughts are that are concerning to the news around us that are relating to God's prophecy, or the Seventh Day Adventist's doctrines. Now I have a question, What do you think of the Darwin theory? Is it a good theory? Now how come we, as human, study his theory of evolution and "big bang" in school? Now why can't we learn about how creation were made by God? Darwin's theories have been around for several of years.. Yes, it's true, but what about the Bible? Isn't it way older than the Darwin's theories? Why can't we study about the Bible? Didn't human wrote the Bible? We are trying to understand the alphabets of ancient Egyptian to understand the past. Why can't we try to understand the Bible that has been translated to our own tounges, to understand about our History? Is it because the Bible offend us? Doesn't the Darwin's theory of evolution also offend us? Especially how we have been evolved from a cell like other living beings in this world. His theory have never been proven, but the power of God has been shown all over the world. Try to read the Bible and try to understand it. Let's start by trying to read about the History of the world, instead of reading about the message first. Let's see, from what I understand about the history from the bible, God have made many things in Eden. He did not just created horses, dogs, and cats. He have also created many large creatures including the "Dinosaurs". I quoted "Dinosaurs" because this is not the real name of those creatures in the beginning. Now since we did not see the real dinosaurs that roamed the earth, we do not know what do they have to cover their body with. Maybe, T-Rex had furs, we do not know this for a fact. But I'm sure that in Eden, there was a world where human and the animals were getting along like men and dogs. Since sin entered the world, human dies, plants dies, animals dies. Back then human lives over hundreds of years. And at the age of Adam, Eve, Cain, Cain's brother, which he killed, and later, Adam and Eve created a sister for Cain, at around those years I would say that the features of human were bigger, stronger, and ofcourse their clothes were not civilized. We know this because after Adam and Eve sinned and left Eden, the Bible said that God cover their body wit coats of skins. Genesis 3:21 "Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them" Doesn't this sound like the Cave men? Who have a bigger body structure than us? Who wore skins on their Body? Now let's go to the story of Abram / Abraham. If we don't know about Abram, before changing his name to Abraham, he came from a civilize country, Ur of the Chaldees. This is the country where religion was first started, writings were first created, clothed were also made, tools were created, etc.. This city was know as the central part of the world's trade. Well anyway, sorry for going off topic, but what I'm trying to do here, is that if you read the Bible and pay atention at the history, you can see that God is alive and he have created this world, which was not made 5 billion years ago.. Basically, it's easy to read the history from the bible than trying to understand a theory that have never been proven right. Just remember that because of sin, living things extinct.
Question: Why do Seventh Day Adventists do not smoke, do not drink alcohol, or have specific type of foods to eat?
Answer:
For this question I would like to have two part of answers. The first part is the smoking and alcohol, and the second part is the specific type of food that the Adventists eat. Now here is the first part of the answer. First of all in 1 Corinthians 3:16, 17 it says, "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. NKJV." Now let's look at this text throughly. In this text, the temple does not mean the church, or the place of worship that we go to. However it talks about you, your own body. You are the temple of God. And then the 16th follows with God's promise and that is if anyone defiles, means destroy, the temple of God, in this case our body, God will destroy him. For the temple of God, your body, is holy. What we are talking here is keeping our body holy, sanctified, or clean. If you are consuming something that is filthy to your body, God will destroy you. Now, when this text talk about destroy, it does not mean that God will destroy you right there, right then. Although God can do so, but because of His grace for us, and His death on the Calvary he wants us to choose what or which way we would like to go, and it's up to us to keep on destroying our body or to keep it sanctified. Now, we all know the effects of smoking, and drinking alcohol. There is no need for me to go in details of what specific type of organs do these substances destroys in our body. But we know smoking and drinking alcohol can destroy your body. Of course anything that is unhealthy to our body can slowly have an effect to destroy our body. That can include watching TV too much, which can have a negative effect to your eyes, or seating too long, which can result in sores, or not excercising. There is also not taking showers, or leaving in an environment that is unhealthy. Let's try to keep our body in good conditions and without eating the unhealthy, because our body is the temple of God.
Now let's look at the specific type of food that we can eat. What is the right food for us to eat? Let's look at Genesis 1:29. "And God said, 'See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. NKJV." First thing first, and that is God have given us every herb that yields seed and every tree that also yields seed and to us those shall be for food. Here are some more texts of the type of food that we should eat, Genesis 3:18, which says that we should eat the herb of the field. I know what you are asking now, howcome there are some Seventh Day Adventists that eats meat? On Genesis 9:3-6 explains that we can consume every moving thing in this world, however, it continues on on the forth verse you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood. On this texts it also mention with the, not shedding man's blood, meaning not killing other man, especially not for food. Well let's see, on Genesis 9:3,4 it does say that we can eat every moving thing except the human. However, on Leviticus 11, the whole chapter starts to classified, or to be in more detailed on what type of moving things we should eat. This chapter explains us the type of animal that moves on the ground and that swims in the ocean, or those that flies that are clean for our body or not. Also on Deuteronomy 14:4-21 it explains more of the clean animals that we should eat and what we shouldn't eat. I do hope that you can spend the time to open those texts to read and I also would hope that these texts have explained the answer to why do the Adventists or Christians eat certain type of food. To conclude this topic, I would share 1 Corinthians 10:31 that says "Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.NKJV."
