It was set up by a person who suffers from IST; they are not a doctor. Please take time to carefully read the important information page. This site is compiled and run by the webmaster in the United Kingdom (UK). about this site My name is Fran and I founded this site in spring 2003. This site is based in the UK. I have had IST (Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia) and some other arrhythmias (heart rhythm disturbances) called Atrial Flutter, AVNRT and Atrial Fibrillation. I had IST for over 15 years. I have had a number of EP Studies and Ablations and also have a Permanent Pacemaker. I also have Behcet's Disease (a disorder of the immune system - causing Vasculitis - inflamed blood vessels). I have worked as a Cardiac Physiologist (Cardiac Technician); I am not a doctor / physician and therefore you must contact your own doctor when seeking medical advice. I would like to say a very big thank you to the individuals who helped and who continue to help with information and suggestions for the site, you know who you are, thank you. You can read my personal story here and find information on this hard to diagnose and hard to treat troublesome problem. Feel free to email me with your stories and suggestions for the site. In 2002 / 2003 I decided to set up this site, for those looking for help in finding information on IST, its diagnosis and treatment. As you may have discovered already - there is very little available information for the person with IST. I am not a physician, but I will willingly share my experiences as a patient with you.
