I started watching anime in my freshman year of college, and rapidly decided that I wanted to learn Japanese. So, I acquired the Tokyo Babylon manga and worked through translating it until I had a basic understanding of the language. Since then, I have been seeking out projects to continue my studies and improve my proficiency (recently I even [insert dramatic music] started taking classes). It had always been my intention to start a distribution point for projects my friends and I were pursuing. I'd even picked out the name. Alas, things kept getting licensed just before we finished. So, in 2006, on a whim that took me at around 3AM one day, when I started downloading the raw file of the first episode of Shounen Onmyouji, I decided that I might as well put this page up and say to hell with caution or preparation. It's not like I'll ever actually be ready.
I'll be subbing one show at a time, starting with Shounen Onmyouji. I'll sub whatever seems like a good idea at the time, apparently without regard for my schedule constraints or reason, because everything I do for fun is done according to the dictates of whim (but ShouMyou is still my pet project). Other kinds of projects include convention panels, music videos, cosplay notes, and fanfiction, which may be accessed from various sources around the web and will eventually be available here.

Every fansubbed episode or movie I will ever post to this site is a free fanwork, not meant to be sold nor to replace the official versions. I will place links on each project page to both the offical Japanese version and the licensed American version, if one exists. I will also keep my downloads active, unless asked to remove them, since I think you should know what you're getting if you're buying a $30 DVD (and watching shows on television isn't always feasible if, like me, your television only gets one very fuzzy channel and you are less than fond of dubs). Just so we're clear: If a request is made by the company who owns a work that I have subtitled, I will remove the download for that work from this website. Download, watch, and then please give your money to the people who make stuff so that they will continue to make more. |
