Entrepreneur Class
An entrepreneur, like the investor, is supposed to make significant investment in a business or commercial venture in Canada upon his or her immigration to Canada.

Based on the definition of an entrepreneur according to the Immigration Regulations of Canada, the entrepreneur will have to meet the following requirements:

i. intend or has the ability to establish, purchase or invest substantially in a business/commercial venture;
ii. investment should be able to make a significant contribution to the economy of Canada;
iii. investment should provide employment opportunities for one or more Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
iv. entrepreneur be in a position to provide active and on-going participation in the management of the business.

Additionally, like the investor, entrepreneur applicants will be evaluated according to age, education, etc (see above). The minimum points required is also the same: 25 points.

However, unlike the Investor and the self-employed, the entrepreneur is accepted for permanent residence status subject to the fulfilment of certain terms and conditions: must invest and operate a business within two years of landing.
