The following criteria apply to investors. He/she should i. have successfully operated, controlled or directed a business; ii. have a minimum net worth of $800,000 through own endeavours; iii. make a minimum investment of $400,000 through the Receiver-General for Canada; Other criteria include a point assessment, which covers: i. Education; ii. Education and Training Factor; iii. Experience; iv. Demographic; v. Age; vi. Proficiency in French and English; and vii. Personal suitability. The qualifying mark is 25 points. After meeting these requirements, the applicant can fill out and submit his/her application. We shall be more than pleased to mail one to you by courier. Applicants are supposed to pay their $CDN 400,000 anytime between the submission of an application and immediately prior to the issuance of a visa. Payment can be made by wire transfer, bank draft or money order payable to the Receiver-General at the following address: CIC Revenue Accounting Jean Edmonds Tower North 4th Floor, 300 Slater Street Ottawa, Ontario Canada, K1A 1L1. Payment should be submitted along with a duly completed Subscription Agreement, which constitutes a legally binding contract. Two copies are required to be submitted. This agreement outlines the operation and administration of the program within the context of the regulatory framework. Upon payment of $CDN400,000, a non-transferable promissory note with no interest attached, with the full guarantee of the participating province, will be issued in anticipation of subsequent repayment. Repayment is made 5 years and 2 months after the end of the month when payment was received in Ottawa. Also, Ottawa will execute the Subscription Agreement and return a copy along with receipt for the $400,000 to the applicant. It is possible for the investor to finance his/her investment in the IIP. The Canadian government, through Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) will confirm loan security arrangements.
