Wake-up time: 8 a.m., approx...I think?  Can't remember ^_^;  Way early.
Hours of Sleep before con: 4.5
Costume(s): Xianghua (Soul Calibur II), Embla von Prios (War of Genesis 3)
Merchandise Purchased: None

  Lead-up to the convention was pretty stressful Thursday night, what with needing to finish my masquerade costume.  I was up very, very late working on Isshi because of how long it took to hammer in all the eyelets.  The irony is that by the end of the day, when I went to finish the stuff I couldn't complete Thursday night, a lot of those eyelets had already fallen out.  By the end of the convention, several more also made a break for it, though they seemed secure enough when I put them in the first time.

Headed over to E.K. Trading before the con at some early hour that I cannot remember at this point, but it was kind of interesting to see stuff going on before the con started, I guess.  Sitting in the chilly dealer's room wasn't the best thing ever, I guess, but I spent some time roaming hallways seeing the really early cosplayers and such, which was fun.  I was itching to get into my Xianghua costume once I saw all of those cosplayers that early..especially that kick-ass Vash that I'm sure I've seen around before.  It's kind of weird realising that I've been to quite a few cons now and I recognise a lot of the attendees, even if I've never spoken to them and don't know their names.

In any case, I was there for several hours before the convention started (official start time was 5pm) and I didn't know when registration opened.  It took a while to find both that out and where registration actually was, since the signage wasn't all that good and it wasn't as obvious as last year.  I did finally register eventually.

I also saw the YTV people arriving and setting up.  I don't see what the big deal is with Sugar and Carlos and whoever that other little loud female was.  So they're on tv...big whoop.  *shrug*  Maybe I'm too practical for my own good?  =P

I ran into Louise while I was prepping my Xianghua costume.  I was so focused and also tired that it didn't process immediately that it was Louise, even though I saw her in that same costume at CNAnime less than a year ago...lol.  It was kind of amusing how at CNAnime I was praising the painting on her kimono (Kisa, you amaze me T_T) and the first thing we said at AN was also about fabric painting.

Oh yeah, and I won a hall cosplay award on my way to registration. O_O  The judge was impressed by all the fabric painting. ^^;  If she'd seen Kisa's stuff beforehand, she wouldn't have been so impressed. XD  You know...I didn't run into Kisa at all...weird...o_o  Maybe she was avoiding her stalker (though I'm probably one of many...-_-;)  I did run into Louise again later, though.  I love your costumes, Louise. ^o^  Maybe next con, I'll have finally made my Satsuki costume (I'm thinking of making the tarot card one, so whenever you and Kisa do those versions of Arashi and Yuzuriha, let me know. ^^).

Spent some time in the jrock room, but probably not as much as I should have.  It seemed like the day went by pretty quickly, actually...I kept on walking from one place to another and not doing anything.  I had a feeling that by the next day I'd be running around like I'd lost my mind.  Anyway, Kirai.ai performed and I got to witness the power of the scary eyeball of doom....which apparently wasn't much of a good luck charm, considering the technical difficulties...lol.  It's okay, I know you sound wonderful Reiciel!  ^_^  But where was the bunny? T_T  *sniff*  The bunny!!!!! T_T

Was supposed to perform in the skit contest, but ended up not doing so due to timing issues and the aforementioned technical difficulties.  Still got changed into Embla, since that had been the plan.  Hmm...okay, so the skit contest didn't happen, but a) the costume stayed on ^____^ (I'm paranoid..it's not that skanky *sweatdrop*), b) cashier at Wendy's thought I had a cute outfit, asked if I'd made it myself and she really did seem to think it was neat O_o, c) it's uber comfy..I like this costume a lot. ^o^  Err...despite the skank value, not because of it.

Had the chance later to conduct an impromptu study regarding the difference between males and females in terms of slightly questionable viewing content.  How so?  Since I'm 18 now, I took the opportunity to check out the fan service (which late at night becomes the hentai room) and the fangirl service (which late at night becomes the yaoi room) rooms.  Female audiences are much more easily amused, I think...and they're kind of scary.  At least the guys are predictable. o_o;;

On that subject, I don't know what was showing in the yaoi room, but it was pretty boring.  Nothing was happening that needed even a PG13 rating, let alone NC-17.  The hentai room, however...whoa...that was quite another story altogether.  But anyway, the yaoi room...was very loud.  Not for any real reason either...I mean, it was like two guys standing next to each other was the greatest thing ever, given audience reaction.  The girls also heckled every male I saw come into the room, with few exceptions.  Girls, really...if guys are brave enough to go in there, why give them a hard time about it?  Some guys haven't wandered into the wrong room...they're just more open-minded than most.  *shrug*  But it was pretty good-natured anyway, so I guess there's nothing wrong with it...  But yes...the hentai room.  It was a lot quieter, for one, save for what was actually showing on the television.  Weirdest. Stuff. Ever.  Menchi-like dogs turning into tentacle beasts and with questionable anatomic proportions?  Err...what the hell?  It wasn't even morbidly fascinating!  So I got bored there and left too.

That was a wrap on Friday night.  Thanks for driving me home, Brian. ^_^ *hugs*
