This test
rig has been designed and locally fabricated. It essentially consists
of a three phase induction motor driving an 4 speed automobile gearbox
(donated by M/s Hindustan Motors Ltd.) coupled to a dc generator for electrical
loading through a resistance bank. This setup is used for our premier
study on the use of motor current signature analysis for detection of
gear box faults. The rig has an electrical control panel, where hall effect
sensors are mounted for measuring the input current drawn by the three
phase induction motor under the various loading (fault conditions) and
speeds of the gearbox. |
