"InMe Change of Direction
InMe have said to expect an older, more mature side from their second album when it appears next year. Frontman Dave McPherson explains: A lot of bands say tat their next album is a big step forward, but being on tour and growing up together over the past couple of years means weve learnt to create better music. He adds that, as much as debut Overgrown Eden surpassed expectations, the new album will be a lot more focused. Not to disrespect the first album, but sometimes the anger is just directionless emotion he continues. This time the songs are more about emotions in particular situations relationships, friends and stuff like that. Im not going to deny I was a bit frustrated on Overgrown Eden I think we still are - were just more sure of what were angry at now. But were not trying to shake anything off. Were going to make something thats still InMe but from a fresh perspective. The band will spend November recording demos before settling on a producer. Current working titles for songs include Faster The Chase, Just A Glimpse, This Town and Beyond. The album, meanwhile is tentatively titled Sansarin, a Buddhist term for looking beyond day to day issues towards the bigger picture that was inspired by bassist Joe Morgans growing interest in the subject. We formed in 1996 and some of the songs on Overgrown Eden date back that far, so this time around its a totally different way of writing an album, continues Dave, who recently turned 21. Its about capturing us now rather than capturing the teenage years. Overgrown Eden was a good reflection of growing up and feeling isolated and confused. But we have a lot more confidence as people know so theres more hope in these songs. Were very proud of Overgrown Eden but we want to beat it.
