The Painter - a close-up on Igor Bogojević

Igor Bogojević was born in the city of Podgorica, in Serbia & Montenegro. He currently resides in Athens, Greece, where he attends post-gradute studies at the Superior School of Fine Arts, a department of the University of Greece.

Bogojević is a contemporary artist who conveys abstract ideas through abstract means. In this aspect, his all-beautiful stallions serve the purpose to interpret a deeper, vast state of mind. His passion for horses is used as symbol for the attainment of his ideas, which generally portray the whirwind of feelings that rush through the spirit of the human kind. Whence his work, although many times so personally-driven, is also a well of common experiences, where emotions of people like you and me can be easily seen.

Albeit his young age, Igor Bogojević represents the fresh, new promise of painting in the world of art. After completing his studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts, in the city of Cetinje (Serbia & Montenegro), he left his home country to pursue better opportunities. The adventure proved worthwhile: since he established himself in Greece, he had the chance to display his work at personal exhibits, to be published in magazines' articles and, obviously, he had the opportunity to absorb the experience and knowledge one can acquire admist travels in distant lands and through contact with foreign cultures.
