GOD IS OUR FATHER
In fact, beginning from Matthew 5:16 to John 20:17 Christ tells us directly who God is to us. By the time we get to John 20:17, there are about 31 times that Christ said with His own Mouth that God is your Father. He left no doubt as to Whom and in what context He was referring to when He said identified that same God as His Father as well. Numerous other times Jesus referred to God as "the Father" in His teachings. There are too many to list here, but doubtless, you get the point.
Check it out for yourself, child of God! Now if you believe, then you should rejoice; but don't think that you can make any one else believe. People who don't want to believe that God is their Father apparently just don't want to believe, period and there's nothing that any of US can do to change them. When God is ready, He will soften their hearts, but a believer's responsibility is to live by example and not profane the Name of your Father.
It has already been shown in Acts 17:28-29 that we are His offspring. The Word of God is full of many other references, mainly in the New Testament, to our being His Children. To those who are fond of saying "he's taking it out of context", all I can say is the preponderance of references above and the following ones cannot all be taken out of context. God says establish something in the mouth of two or three witnesses. What better witness than the actual Testimony of God.
Here is yet another scripture---Romans 8:14-17 further talks about His Fatherhood. Note the REWARD we receive in verse 17. Of course, one might say, "but He's talking in a Spiritual sense..." and they would be right because that is the Goal, culminating in our being Changed (see 1 Corinthians 15:50-54 & 2 Corinthians 3:18). But, remember, Christ first spoke to physical humanity regarding our heritage. Once all humanity begins to follow and obey Christ, they will be headed for the Sonship (and Daughtership).
