Statement of Problem

ICT TELECOM WORLDWIDE is a leader in the field of Information Communication Technology projects in the World. In our process we have found that there is a sortage of staff to bridge the digital divide throughout the world. It has been estimated that the shortfall of networking professionals for Europe alone will reach 600,000 by 2002. In developing countries we have found that students face the hardest acces to training in this new and exciting field. The students have to leave their homes and families and move to the United States or Canada to get their training. In most countries acess to full Internet services are restricted to only staff or graduate students.

Goals and Objectives

The ICT WORLDWIDE TELECOM plans to establish 200 ICT WORLDWIDE TELECOM TRAINING CENTERE in 200 cities throughout the world over the next 3 years.

ICT WORLDWIDE TELECOM TRAINING CENTERES will be using a face to face and a train the teachers aproach which will provide IP companies fully trained staff to run the IP systems and also be able to do the other IP Services that are required and offered by the Internet Provider.

The objective of each ICT WORLDWIDE TELECOM TRAINING CENTRE will be to strengthen Internet skills within the staff of the national telecom operator(s). Partnership arrangements will be made with the Internet Provider, The Internet Network Provider and also with the companies that supply the equipment for these systems. Job placement will also be a main target for the graduate students of the ICT WORLDWIDE TELECOM TRAINING CENTRES.

Training will also be custom designed for companies that wish to have employees or future employees to take so that they will fbe able to run the IP systems and also be able to provide IP Services that are offered to customers.

TRAINING PROGAMS


ICT WORLDWIDE TELECOM will estabish 200 ICT WORLDWIDE TELECOM TRAINING CENTRES throughout the world. We will set up the Centres as the IP's in each country are ready to move into the Internet and require trainied students.

ICT WORLDWIDE TELECOM TRAINING CENTRES will use this approach:

Training-of-teachers phase,(transfer of materials and equipment once the course is finished)

The training of the teachers will be held at the ICT WORLDWIDE TELECOM TRAINING CENTRE in the location that it is being set up. The teachers will have a hands on aproach and will know their systems and how they function. This way there will be less down time and the teachers wil feel confortable at using the Computers and the System in their location.

Once the teachers have been trained, the partners will transfer the training material (lab equipment, software, course material) to the ICT WORLDWIDE TELECOM TRAINING CENTRE The trained teachers will be responsible for the installation and utilisation of the training material and also the computer equipment at the Centre.
ICT WORLDWIDE TELECOM TRAINING CENTRE will than open it's doors to students and also to clients for training.

Target population of the Internet training programmes


Students will be tested for interest and courses will be open to all that qualify and also
mature students.

Candidate institutions


ICT WORLDWIDE TELECOM TRAINING CENTRE will work with universities, technical institutes and educational organizations.

ICT WORLDWIDE TELECOM TRAINING CENTRE will go into partnership with institutions that want create their own Training Centers at local level and to assists them in their functioning.

COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS

Overview

· Minimum of 10 - 20 Personal Computers (Minimum of one PC per trainee)
· Fully networked lab with a minimum 64Kbps dedicated Internet connection
· 2 dedicated instructors to teach the program and train
Detailed Equipment/Lab Requirements -
To use all of the features of the curriculum, assessment server and student community on your computer, your system must meet the following requirements:

· Must have a minimum of 10 PC's or Macintosh systems for the development lab with the following capabilities:

- Windows 98 or Mac OS 8.0 or later
- Terminal emulation software
- 10Base T Ethernet Network Interface Card
- Netscape Navigator 4.6.1 or later or Internet Explorer 5.1 or later
- Available COM port/serial port

For a PC:

- Operating System: Windows 98 or Windows NT 4.0
- Browser: Netscape 4.6.1 or later, or Internet Explorer 5.0 or later
- Java virtual machine patch "msjavx86.exe or use version 5.1 (QuickTime plug-in and MacroMedia Shockwave plug-in (available for free)
- Processor: 166 Mhz Pentium (minimum) - Recommended, 266 MHz or greater Pentium
- Memory: 64 mb
- 10 MB free disk space
- Monitor and Video card: 800X600 resolution (minimum) - Recommend, 1024X768 resolution
- 10BaseT Ethernet card
- CD/ROM drive
- Mouse
- Sound care
- Speakers or headphones

For a Macintosh:

- Mac OS 8.0
- Browser: Netscape 4.6.1 or later, or Internet Explorer 5.0 or later
- Java virtual machine patch "msjavx86.exe or use version 5.1 (QuickTime plug-in and Macromedia Shockwave plug-in)
- Processor: 150 Mhz Power PC
- Memory: 64mb
- 10 MB free disk space
- Monitor and Video Card: 800 x 600 resolution

· One Personal Computer for use as the web server with the following capabilities
- Windows NT 4.0 or later
- 10BaseT Ethernet Network Interface Card
- Internet Information Server 4.0 or later

Provide at least 100 m2 of space available for both the Global Networking Academy classroom and lab operations.-
